Hello, Yupette,
Anyone listen closely to Chris Zimmerman's list of "priorities" he stated he wants to accomplish over the next 12 months during his County Board speech today? The f-ing guy is a megalomaniac. He wants to spend approximately $2 billion during the next year, largely on his vanity projects like the stupid trolleys for the Pike and Crystal City. Also, every other vanity project he and the other County Board members and County Staff and the Special Interests can dream up. Where's he going to get the money? From Jim Moran, who will be sitting on a back bench and told to shut the f-- up by the Tea Partiers whenever he gets up to ask for more earmarks for this wealthy congressional district? I don't think so!

Based on Zimmy's wacky speech today...he needs a psych consultation.
Today's County Board Meeting proved it - Zimmerman is a worse nut case than Scott McCaffrey. I didn't think that was possible.
Fix infrastructure first. No new residential / commercial construction until present infrastructure needs are met. This does NOT mean more recreation infrastructure, we have enough oalready. It means fixing our streets, replacing water mains, etc.
Chris Zimmerman is a Reagan Yuppiecrat. All he knows is taking from the middle class to empower the yupper class.
Two billion dollars spent on their yuptard vanity projects this year? More like three billion.
Leaving WMATA behind frees Zimmerman to spend all his time mis-prioritizing and overspending for pet projects and programs -- hold on tight for a wild ride.
Based on the County Board's spending priorities the County deserves an A bond ration from S and P.
Send a copy of Zimmy's speech to the person who rates Arlington County's bonds at Standard and Poors. See what happens.
Zimmy finally found something for Nada Tejada to do - coordinate the County Board's lavish expenditures on sports, recreation, travel, galas, parties, etc.
Thirty years of Yuppies. And every year they are worse.
The thread A.Y. ran last month was prescient - Zimmerman wants to make over Arlington into Metropolis.
Who wrote their speeches? Do they have speechwriters on the P.R. staff now?
Total moratorium on all spending except for basic capital improvements. That should be their priority.
Did you know that the ugly Rockefeller-designed concrete box buildings that were constructed during the "urban renewal" era in New York State are being demolished?
What's the difference between them and what Zimmerman has been building for the past 20 years? An orange, beige, or brown brick veneer.
They will raise residential real estate taxes again this year by 5% or 6%.
Obviously their intent is to turn the entire County into an upscale party zone and gentrify out everyone who doesn't have at least $50,000 a year in disposable income to spend on partying.
Zimmerman badly wants the Barcroft Apartments demolished and replaced by yupscale condos. Never mind that Barcroft Apartments is affordable middle class housing.
I am self-employed in I.T. and moved to Richmond from Arlington three years ago (northern suburbs). It's still suburban here. And very affordable.
I am sick of them imposing their Yuppie drivel on the rest of us. Bad music, bad art, bad live theater, bad architecture, bad planning, bad transportation, bad housing. Worst of the lot are Hynes and Tejada, who are so clueless they are unable to offer alternatives to what Zimmerman, Fisette, and Favola propose.
