Yupette, isn't it obvious? They are taking from maintaining and renovating old public infrastructure to build new public infrastructure that is expensive to maintain. How long can that continue?

Cultural Center's Wealthy Elites Will Require Major Taxpayer Subsidies

According to the County Staff Report and consultant Webb Management's report attached to the Cultural Center agenda (item #52 on the County Board's agenda for July 14th) Arlington taxpayers will directly pay from $3.1 million to $4.7 million between FY2010 and FY2014 to subsidize the Cultural Center. Webb Management's report indicates that the Cultural Center may not be able to raise more than $300,000 per year through fund raising. The Board of Advisors (primary decision makers) for the Cultural Center will consist of representatives from wealthy corporations, and wealthy individuals.
