Hey, Yupette,
Forget the estimates of the cost of Zimmerman's Pike trolley being $134 million and the Crystal City trolley being $140 million. Total built-out costs will be in the range of more than $400 million. Pretty appalling because the Pike doesn't need a trolley and the County will be paying a fortune to build a trolley through a former rail yard. Thanks for the blog.

Same County Board that just approved construction of a new parking garage in Buckingham?
If Zimmerman can't be trusted to run Metro, why should we allow him to build a $400 million light rail system?
If the transportation planners want to do something important, re-connect rail service to Belvoir.
Why aren't they talking about the mess traffic from Mark Center is going to make in South Arlington?
Arlington's 'transportation planners' should plan the transportation infrastructure where they live - PW County. Oh, and please remove your kids from the Arlington School system while you're at it.
Wait until they run that $400 million number through the "no-build" analysis option (using that money to improve existing bus service on the pike and not constructing a streetcar). That should kill this stupid trolley idea for good.
Kmow what needs revitalization? Route 1 corridor in PW County where the 'planners' live.
Start with the area around the VRE station...what a dump.
Vornado and the other REITs should redevelop Route 1 south of Alexandria, focusing on Prince William County. Arlington and Alexandria have enough in-fill redevelopment.
Anyone know why constructing a light rail line in a former rail yard will cost over $140 million?
Insofar as I can determine the Pike and Crystal City trolleys will function as a shuttle system to deliver people to the Pentagon. So let the federal government pay for it.
