Rouse Estate Being Sold for $30 Million

Hello,

AY learned today from two sources that the Rouse Estate (corner of Wilson and McKinley) is on the market for $30 million. Likely outcome of the sale will be more residential infill at some density. Arlington County has expressed little interest in acquiring the estate for open space because Upton Hill Regional Park is just across Wilson Blvd.

Stay tuned for details.

Several years ago County Government was advised that Mr. Rouse had died and the estate might come on the market within a few years but expressed no interest in approaching the Rouse Family. New Urbanists have been in complete control of County Government and the Media for decades and their sole interest is complete infill gentrification of the County.

At the March 21st County Board meeting Arlingtonians for a Sustainable Future (ASF) asked the County Board to purchase the Rouse Estate. Board appeared to not be interested.

Next big thing for non-resident urbanist "planners" is turning the Potomac River Estuary into a sports-recreation complex.

Which of the County's favored developers will massively redevelop this estate?

Will be mixed-use redeveloped. More schools will be jammed into existing parkland.
