Work at Home Day - May 17th

Hey Yupette,

This Friday, May 17th, is Bike to Work Day.

A GREAT day to work at home on any number of projects. Thousands of free-range bicyclists, including bicycle cult members, will be riding on the County's streets sidewalks, trails, and plazas, and, as usual, obeying traffic ordinances will be optional. A lose-lose for pedestrians and drivers of 4 wheel motor vehicles.

If you're a pedestrian you can expect lots of bicycles on sidewalks. If you drive a motor vehicles you can expect the police will be out ticketing drivers who fail to yield the right of way to bicycle scofflaws. The pols long ago made the bicycle cult one of their pet special interests. This year you can also expect lots of electric scooters zooming on the sidewalks. Nothing will be said or done about them either.

Best thing to do is stay home and telecommute to work, or just take the day off and do spring housecleaning before summer arrives, any day now.

Thanks for this blog.

Libby Garvey is the Fairy Godmother of the Bicycle Cult. Yes. Libby is to bicycles as Jay Fisette was to aquatics. When will my street get repaved? When Libby retires and the County's street paving fund isn't used for bike lanes and street narrowing.

Seen on the local news last night...Robot delivery services are coming to the sidewalks in your neighborhood, sooner than you think.

Time is long overdue for Libby to retire and move to Portland.

Yeah, bikesters were all over the sidewalks this morning. I'm leaving late for work and working late.

Seen on another Arlington news blog: Urban Village Idiots should take themselves and their Smart Growth gentrification scam to where it's needed - Baltimore, Trenton, Newark, Camden, etc.

Trails were a mess so I stayed off them.

Arlington County Government should be ashamed of itself for the the way Bike to Work Day Bikesters were able to kick pedestrians, hikers, and runners off Arlington's trails yesterday.

Second the Motion that Libby Garvey retires to Portland.

Trails belong to bicyclists :-(

What occurs when one political party rules a town, city, county for decades.

Totally SUCKS that the Bikester Bozos own the trails.

Agree. F***** trails are owned by bikester bozos. Thanks Libby.

I sent an e-mail to the Northern Virginia Regional Park System asking that trails be designated for bicycles only. No response.
