Hi Yupette,
Check out yesterday's NY Times - page B4. The Government Accountability Office and Energy Department IG investigated the Energy Star program (which is jointly managed by the Department of Eneergy and EPA) and found it's a big charade.
What is the "Green" movement? Corporate PR and corporate con artists?

The LEED system is also corrupt. A tent with a wood stove for heat can be 'LEED Certified'.
Under the LEED system you get one point for installing Energy Star appliances and another point for hiring s LEED consultant who is supposed to keep track of what is energy efficient and what is not.
So even the LEED points that have something to do with energy efficiency are a scam?
Happy Earth Day 2010, sponsored by Exxon-Mobil, Peabody Coal, and Dominion Resources.
You mean the New Yuppie Times? Also referred to as the New Yu$$ie Times.
New York Times sucks. It's motto should be "All The News That's Fit To Print About Yuppies".
Let's face reality - Arlington County Government is corrupt from top to bottom.
Corrupt and/or incompetent. The guy who wanted to run against Moran in a Democratic primary couldn't manage to get his resume straight or collect the thousand signatures required to put his name on the ballot.
How about the rest of the LEED system?
Fisette's "Environmental Task Force' is also a big charade.
Fisette is totally corrupt. Anything he says and does is on behalf of his plutocrat pals.
Fisette's "Environmental Task Force" is to 2010-2020 what Fisette's live theater task force was to 2000-2010.
Fisette's pals get the gold mine...taxpayers get the shaft.
Recommendations will be weatherizaton (energy efficient windows) and mickey mouse stuff like more florescent light bulbs. Let's not offfend Washington Gas and Dominion Resources.
Anyone checking whether the drought resistant plants are really drought resistant (another LEED point that has nothing to do with energy efficiency)?
It's not just a charade, it's major fraud, Yupette. The developers typically receive millions of dollars in bonus density from LEED certification.
Fraud on the people who buy condo units with supposedly energy efficient appliances.
