"Arlington Spends $100 Million / Year Keeping the Homeless Homeless"

Hello Arlington Yupette:

I read Arlington's 2011 Budget on-line and I viewed the Budget hearings on-line the past 3 evenings.

Isn't it obvious that it's costing Arlington's taxpayers about $100 million a year to keep Arlington's homeless, homeless?

Well, yeah. County social services plus the poverty pimps plus the civic do gooders. At least $100 mill. Pretty f'ing pathetic to see them asking for tax dollars to keep their social welfare charades fully funded.

Notice where the budget got cut...things like libraries and police and fire protection.

$ignature Theater threatened that if it didn't get it's welfare for the wealthy stipend from the County Board it wouldn't do "community outreach." I don't want those creeps in my community, don't give them a dime of tax dollars. Let them ask billionaire $tephen $ondheim.

Divide $100 million by 1000 homeless. Then look at Arlington's social services budget. Does not count the NGOs and volunteers who aren't compensated by the County.

Look at the everywhere else inside the Beltway - same thing.

Been to Anacostia lately? Ugly orange brick box buildings going up pretty quickly there.

Blame all five County Board members. They said and did nothing for decades except to either overtly or covertly work for massive re-segregation, aka gentrification.

If Arlington is spending $100,000 per homeless person per year, how much of a single family home would that buy each of the homeless?

DC, it's like this: Obama, Fenty, Euille, Nnamdi, and other African American decision makers are Black men who hate the Black middle class they came from.

They will retire and leave the same mess their parents left in the frost belt, now known as the rust belt.

Their (meaning the elected leadership in political jurisdictions within about 40 miles of DC) modus operandi is to re-create Johannesburg South Africa inside the Beltway. Some 'affordable' housing is provided for household servants, but 90% of Black workers and most middle class Whites commute in from the outer outer suburbs.

At least 30% of the time Arlington police spend patrolling Arlington is consumed by investigating real or false complaints about the homeless.
