Arlington's Public Budget Hearings - March 23-25
Arlington's public budget hearings will be held on March 23rd, 24th, and 25th. More information can be found on the County's public relations Website arlingtonva.us. You can also watch the proceedings via this site. The tax rate hearing on March 25th will likely be lightly attended, if you don't want to spend hours waiting in line behind special interest groups. Yupette believes there should be no tax rate increase and an increase in a few fees to keep pace with the County's actual expenses.

First thing I'd cut would be the County's PR Department.
It was more of the same last night. The County Board listened to the special interests, not Arlingtonians who are being heavily taxed to pay for special interest pet projects.
Jeff, County Board needs a huge PR organization and a couple hundred million of tax dollars to give to special interest groups to be able to stay in power.
The wacky Census Bureau just released a new population estimate that indicates the County's population grew 7,500 in one year and by 30,000 since 2000. Only infrastructure keeping up with population growth is live entertainment and recreation.
Repeal Reaganism. Dump Yuppublicrats Favola, Fisette, Zommerman. Back to the future.
Overall impression after watching the Budget Public Begging Charade last night - Arlington is run by Reagan Yuppies who are all for more of the same Reagan Yuppy Arlington.
County Board appointees and non profit social service agency poverty pimps are Reaganists. Their agenda is - gentrify the poor, workers, middle class out, outsource jobs to the Third World, import poor Third World people to clean their homes, and put themselves on the boards of the social services pimp-and-hoe NGOs who obtain hundreds of millions every year to keep Yuppie Arlington operating.
