Only Federal Law Enforcement Can Stop Zimmerman's Streetcar from Hell

Hello, Yupette,

I have HAD IT with the waste, mismanagement, and fraud being perpetrated upon Arlington residents, taxpayers, and voters by Chris Zimmerman and his County Board cronies, Jay Fisette, Mary Hynes, and J. Walter 'Nada' Tejada. And their corporate cronies, the developers and REITs, who are funding the entire Pike transit fiasco with their payoffs, kickbacks, and graft.

I, and many others, DEMAND that not only the USDOT Inspector General investigate and audit the entire Pike Transit System but the U.S. Attorney's Office and Commonwealth Attorney's office also investigate the Zimmerman Regime's criminal activities, which range from the County Manager's PR Team intimidating local media from printing information about bus alternatives to Zimmerman's trolley folly, to the pay-to-play "consulting" activities of Jay Fisette and Chris Zimmerman, to the tens of thousands in cash that were stuffed into envelopes and handed out as "party favors" last week during the U.S.S Arlington festival.

ENOUGH of the gifts, gimmes, gratuities, grifters, grafters, corporate welfare, payoffs, and kickbacks. Time to send Zimmerman to Allenwood, where he will be, for once in his life, employed earning an honest living, milking cows at 5 AM on the prison farm. Hopefully with the assistance of Jay Fisette and Nada Tejada.

Show Us What State-of-the Art BRT Looks Like - Put the Vegas BRT on the Pike

Hey Yupette,

Thanks to Peter Rousselot for winning the argument for putting bus rapid transit on the Pike at Wednesday's Committee of 100 meeting. Since the local media largely function as shills for the status quo, developers, local chambers of commerce, and various special interests it's time for Arlington residents, taxpayers, and voters to see what competing bus and streetcar systems look like - and we're obviously not going to be informed by the local media.

So how about bringing a Vegas BRT to the Pike for a few weeks? Let us see how flexible BRT is - no dedicated lanes required. Let us, not the out-of-state REITs like Vornado, decide what's best for us. Thanks for showing us the YouTube videos of the Vegas BRT.

Next Pike $treetcar $harade is Over Here at Marymount on April 10th

Hi Yupette,

Just wanted to remind everyone that the next $treetcar $harade meeting aka forum will be facilitated by $ara$ota $cott McCaffrey, Arlington Chamber of Commerce's Executive Committee Member and $treetcar Facilitator, at Marymount University on Wednesday, April 10th at 8 PM. But first there will be a meet and greet followed by Committtee of 100 County Board and Chamber of Commerce Facilitators monthly dinner. Meeting place on  Marymount's main campus will be at Gerald Phelan Hall. As always, the Committee of 100 expects courteous and civil behavior to be observed towards everyone who conspires to destroy Arlington's suburban quality of life.

Anchors Aweigh - Pay-to-Play Party's Over Here

Hi, Yupette,

Hello from Newport News. Arlington's fat cats and bureaucrats have arrived for the U.S.S. Arlington commissioning (total tax dollars spent on celebrations for the ship will easily reach $2 million) and the partying started last night. Of course, the crew has been partying for the past week.

Anyone need a list of the pay-to-play hospitality suites and the corporate organizers, contact the Republican and Democratic and Chamber of Commerce Event Facilitators. Please note that the REITs will be opening their hospitality suites in Norfolk this afternoon and will provide limo service for groups of three or more.

U.S.S. Arlington will be THE party of the year. So get on down here early and don't miss the fun, and the opportunity to party with the big dogs.

Las Vegas BRT - What Zimmerman Doesn't Want You To See

Hello,

A.Y. again publishes YouTube videos of the Las Vegas BRT in operation on the Vegas Strip. Also the Las Vegas Deuce double deck bus. Also a video of both operating on the Vegas Strip. The Vegas BRT runs on city streets in downtown Vegas and dedicated transitways in the suburbs. Enjoy the videos.

Streetcar Town Hall Meeting Tonight at Kenmore Middle School

Hello,

Just to remind everyone that the County Board is holding it's Streetcar Town Hall Meeting tonight at Kenmore Middle School (Carlin Springs Road at Route 50) between 6:30 PM and 9:00 PM. An open Q and A session is supposed to be scheduled between 7:45 and 8:55.

What Arlington taxpayers, voters, and residents SHOULD be seeing tonight are alternatives to streetcars in the Kenmore parking lot - BRT and advanced bus vehicles. We should be presented with information about ALL transit options on the Pike, not just what the County Board and its out-of-state REIT corporate cronies want us to see.

Please attend and bring signs, placards, and questions about the dangerous, expensive, and inefficient streetcar system we don't need and can't afford. We are attaching a badge you can print and wear tonight. See you there.

Memo from County Board: Party's Over Here Next Weekend

Hey Yupette,

Did you hear the testimony by ordinary Arlington residents, taxpayers, and voters at tonight's County Board Budget Hearing? Pretty sobering. What's the response of the County Board going to be (with the exception of Libby Garvey)?  Here it is, direct from the C.Z. Public Information Team in the County Manager's Office:

"Party's Over Here with C.Z. (pictured left-center) on the M/V Minnow II in Newport News next weekend. Contact your Precinct Controller for details about the Pay-to-Play Extravaganza of the decade in Newport News. We still have a few $10,000 Sponsorships available. Don't miss out on your neighborhood development and redevelopment opportunity of the decade. For an extra $5,000 we'll include an automatic transfer-of-development rights from North Arlington to South Arlington. For another $5,000 we'll allow you to exempt your upscale condo in-fill redevelopment from having to build that nasty affordable housing on-site. Contact your Precinct Controller or the County Board Office about arranging Sponsorships".
