Hi, Yupette,
Hello from Newport News. Arlington's fat cats and bureaucrats have arrived for the U.S.S. Arlington commissioning (total tax dollars spent on celebrations for the ship will easily reach $2 million) and the partying started last night. Of course, the crew has been partying for the past week.
Anyone need a list of the pay-to-play hospitality suites and the corporate organizers, contact the Republican and Democratic and Chamber of Commerce Event Facilitators. Please note that the REITs will be opening their hospitality suites in Norfolk this afternoon and will provide limo service for groups of three or more.
U.S.S. Arlington will be THE party of the year. So get on down here early and don't miss the fun, and the opportunity to party with the big dogs.

We want to thank the taxpayers of Arlington County for the $50,000 they contributed to furnish our ship's new party.. I mean... tribute...room.
Where is the Healthy Companies International hospitality suite? Also, how much do we have to spend for consulting from Healthy Companies before we get to meet with Jay at the Arlington County Board?
FYI, Northup-Grumman and Huntington Ingalls, which built the U.S.S. Arlington, are major clients of Healthy Companies International.
The "consultants" will thick as fleas on a dog in August at the downtown Marriott in Newport News.
Yupette, how about a post about the revolving door between 2100 Clarendon Blvd. and 2101 Clarendon Blvd.?
Which hospitality suite is providing information about redeveloping the Gulf Branch Nature Center?
Hottest escorts are partying in the VA Beach hospitality suites.
party's right here...at the downtown marriott
You can watch the commissioning festivities on-line at arlingtonva.us if you live in Arlington, or dvidshub.net, which is the armed services PR channel.
some seriously hung-over people in newport news this morning.
so much cash is being handed out in envelopes that staples has run out of envelopes.
Fat Cats? You got that right. Every f-ing Arlington fat cat and fat cat wannabe is here today.
A few $10,000 'sponsorships' are still available.
Wonder if, in light of the million dollar bus shelter fiasco, Zimmerman asked the Governor for more state dollars to build the Pike streetcar system?
everybody is lobbying everybody else about everything.
Pay-to-Pay Party? No fooling. Every Arlington neighborhood is up for bid for "redevelopment" this weekend.
Commissioning speeches by VIP pols were lame. They must be concentrating on wheeling and dealing, in our best interests of course.
How much are the deals made this weekend with the REITs gonna cost the taxpayers?
What's and where's the next 9-11 re-enactor event?
How sad. Frank O'Leary has to go back to dunning struggling small business owners.
U.S.S. Somerset County commissioning, next year.
Time to re-name the Department of Defense the Department of War. 'Cause that's all those turkeys want to do, fight wars. Listen to their stupid speeches.
some of the fat cats were too hung over from Friday night's carousing to attend the commissioning ceremony.
Maybe Congress has all kinds of prohibitions on accepting this or that from corporations. Does not apply to state and local pols.
Did you see some of the escorts in VA Beach? Including the 'alternative lifestyles' escorts? Wow!
nobody noticed which local VIPs were missing...everyone was too cold and/or hung over.
I wonder if, for the next commissioning, they will invite some cows, or their descendents, from Somerset County as guests of honor.
FYI, it's all been decided which REIT and developer gets to redevelop what neighborhood.
Major league wheeling and dealing among the pols and the developers, there goes my formerly-residential neighborhood.
Where do the corporations get the cash to stuff into envelopes to pass out as party favors to the pols at this and similar events? Just wondering.
What are they going to do for an encore?
So, in a month or two we will begin to hear about the secret deals that were made in Newport News, Norfolk, and VA Beach.
Any public infrastructure with considerable outdoor open space the County owns is for sale to the developers and REITs who cough up the most cash, latest offering is most of Lacey Woods Park.
