Just wanted to remind everyone that the next $treetcar $harade meeting aka forum will be facilitated by $ara$ota $cott McCaffrey, Arlington Chamber of Commerce's Executive Committee Member and $treetcar Facilitator, at Marymount University on Wednesday, April 10th at 8 PM. But first there will be a meet and greet followed by Committtee of 100 County Board and Chamber of Commerce Facilitators monthly dinner. Meeting place on Marymount's main campus will be at Gerald Phelan Hall. As always, the Committee of 100 expects courteous and civil behavior to be observed towards everyone who conspires to destroy Arlington's suburban quality of life.

"Suburban quality of life"? Not much left and going fast.
Next session of the General Assembly pass a law to require Virginia's city and county executives to live in the jurisdiction where they work.

Ain't that the truth! I'm old enough to remember when Arlington was truly suburban and not the overdeveloped mess that it is now.

That would have my vote. Seems too many of Arlington's "executives" and "decision makers" don't live here and make "decisions" that clearly shows they don't give a flying hoot about those of use that live in Arlington. The attitude seems to be "We know what is best for you peons, now shut up, sit down, and fork over the greenbacks."
Question to Barbara Donnellan: When are you and the other non-resident VIP County employees going to start holding Executive Leadership Team meetings with the out-of-state REITs about the deals that were made over the weekend to sell off our parks, community centers, and libraries?
Who said the $un Fi$ette doesn't contribute to Arlington? Why $cott just spent $29.95 for a trophy to award to a Civic Federation mega-infill deal facilitator at the CivFed's Republicrat hug-fest.
Wasn't there a silent auction at a luxury hotel in Norfolk Saturday afternoon where the REITs bid for 'development opportunities'?
OK, let's remember this is America, not Europe. So no bare chested wymyn at tomorrow's event sporting body paint with slogans like 'Zimmie $ucks'
What is their fascination with selling Cherrydale Library to the developers?
Fi$ette needs the money for another live theater.
Speaking of libraries, the County is renegotiating the $ignature Theater's lease for the Shirlington library building as part of a 'welfare for the wealthy' giveaway package.
Time for a moratorium on any new development and re-development. I am 29 years old, have lived here all my life, and bought a modest home in the Bluemont neighborhood several years ago. The County Board, its non-resident employees, and its corporate developer cronies are ruining this County. These people are all pushing retirement and they are gonna be outta here in about 5 years and I'll bet they will all live 200 miles from the nearest smart growth urban area.
Yeah, its time for somebody (M or F or both) to paint "Zimmie Sucks" on their chests and show the County Board what we think of their wheeling, dealing and stealing....at the next Board meeting on April 20th.
Charade? Same community leaders who are telling us 'don't worry, be happy' are flocking to Paulie Ferguson's office to apply for concealed carry permits.
Lacey Woods Park bulldozed into two soccer fields and 20 McMansions? You heard it here first.
Mubarak's Rule: The longer a regime stays in power the worse it treats its citizens and the more effort it expends on staying in power.

Exactly. The old saying "absolute power corrupts absolutely" applies. The Founding Fathers were not perfect (who is?) but they did not intend for political positions to become career slots; politicians were only in office for a limited time and then went back to their full-time occupations. Term limits should apply for all politicians of all political parties. When their term is up, out they go and are replaced - again, regardless of political party. I believe a lot of regular folks are just plain fed up with the Demopublicans and Republicrats.
Yes, how many of the Committee of 100, CivFed community leaders, Arlington Community Foundation, etc., who constantly hype Arlington County have concealed carry permits?
Your community center bulldozed into synthetic soccer fields and McMansions by a public-private partnership formed in secret in a Norfolk luxury hotel hospitality suite last weekend? It's the Arlington Republicrat Way.
Amount currently expended by the Zimmerman Regime to stay in power? At least $200 million.
Zimmy fought with the School Board tonight to keep from coughing up extra cash to pay to educate the additional 1100 students who will attend Arlington schools over the next year, based on Zimmy's marketing of Arlington County as America's #1 corporate relocation destination. Duh.
Zimmerman Regime rewards supporters, corporate cronies, and special interests with tax dollars and the income stream is not going to be there in future years to keep that up. Consequently, they are resorting to selling off public property.
Bring a pro BRT sign tonight on posterboard.
Zimmy has no problem selling your branch library, community center, and nature center to pay for his stupid streetcar.
Based on Zimmy's exchange with the School Board last night it appears that the County doesn't have the cash to fund both the increase in student population and the County Board's vanity projects. So Zimmy is cutting funds to the school system.

Ain't it the truth! And three of his four fellow "board" members seem to be just fine about it and go along with it. (I think Audrey might be opposed to the cuts since she's questioning the needs for Zimmy's Trolley).
LOL. Audrey Clement is too busy making the already-exclusive Green Party even more exclusive.
Ain't it the truth. What other state party organization is imposing annual dues on its members?
Peter Rousselot made a case for a BRT system on the Pike last night.
Last night's Committee of 100 meeting proved what the Pike streetcar is all about - a gimme to developers from local, state, and federal taxpayers.
Earth to Arlington County Board - STOP wasting any more tansit dollars on the stupid streetcar.
I want to know exactly where the dedicated funds from the commercial real estate surtax are going now. I also want to know the proposed transit capital projects that would qualify for funds from the commercial real estate surtax.
Zimmy wants increased service on the 45 ART line and other ART routes? OK, stop the insane streetcar planning and use dedicated commercial real estate tax funds for new ART bus equipment.
