Clement to Hold Westover Meet and Greet Fundraiser on August 18th
I'm Dr. Audrey Clement, Independent candidate or Arlington County Board.
On Thursday, August 18th I'll be hosting a Meet and Greet fundraiser at Westover Market's indoor restaurant between 6:30 and 8:00 PM. Suggested contribution to my campaign is $20.
As a long time Westover resident I'm acutely aware of the needs of residents and businesses in Westover and the Lee Highway corridor.
When elected to County Board I will work to preserve housing and small business diversity in Arlington. County Government can do much more to make housing truly affordable and help small businesses grow and prosper.
I look forward to meeting Westover area residents on Thursday and talking about our common issues, needs, and opportunities.

FYI, the Democratic Machine and its developer cronies are packing a committee looking into Westover redevelopment with Smart Growth Yellow Dog Democrats.

Libby Garvey watched her own upscale community, Fairlington, go from completely affordable to completely unaffordable over 10 years and said and did nothing. She loves to shop across Quaker Lane (Alexandria) in a real urban village while inviting out-of-state smart growth developers to bulldoze retail and commercial sites in Arlington she and her elitist republicrat predecessors allowed to deteriorate for decades.
It gets worse. Libby and Jay Fisette are diverting federal and state transportation grant funding to their pet bicycle interests. The Democrat-controlled for-profit and non-profit bicycle organizations are paying huge amounts for bicycle infrastructure, funded from local taxes. Why does a bikeshare bicycle cost $1100? Then there the big salaries paid to the people who run the bicycle organizations, almost all connected to the DC or Arlington Democratic Parties.
Inside Nova / Sun Gazette and ArlNow controlled by the ACDC Machine? No, really?
It gets worse. Post reporter sits for hours taking notes at public meetings and then writes short articles about the meetings that would earn her a B in college Journalism 102.
Post should do an investigative series about what working at Amazon is like for fufillment center employees.
Post Reporters can't find Arlington and Alexandria, never mind Amazon's Virginia fufillment centers.
Absolutely agree - time for a moratorium on smart growth.
The high handed manner the County Board and County Staff treat small business is disgraceful. Even more disgraceful is the high handed manner the Arlington Chamber of Commerce treats small business. Time is overdue to retire Libby Garvey and Jay Fisette. Also dump that idiot at the Chamber who leads with her censored.
Same Scott McCaffrey who served on the Chamber's Executive Committee while the commercial office vacancy rate rose from 8% to 28%?

Latest from Libby - subsidized Lyft and Uber ridesharing for 22207 residents while the people who clean homes in 22207 get tolled to drive from their affordable homes in Western Fairfax to Arlington.
It gets worse. Arlington County Public Schools will soon begin to introduce mandatory Smart Growth lessons as part of the cirriculum, with the materials being published by out-of-state REITs, using Lyin' Libby's former school board connections as a means to get them implemented.
It burns me up to see how Libby et. al. treat Lee Highway small businesses. They are nothing but sources of sales tax, meals tax, and business tax for the County Board's pet vanity projects. I have come to believe the reason Libby opposed the Pike streetcar was because she wanted the funds that would have been spent on the streetcar to be spent instead on her own pet projects and programs.
Audrey recently told Arlington Chamber that she wants mandatory proffers from developers for APS infrastructure. About time.

Double deck buses are not allowed to cross Key Bridge. All additional crossings of the Potomac in the vicinity of Rosslyn and Georgetown must be made via Gondola.
Audrey's campaign held a nice neighborbood meet-up this evening. Food was great. Neighbors drifted in, spoke with Audrey, and left to go shopping elsewhere in Westover or go home.
