Time for Barbara Donnellan to Retire

Hey Yupette,

So Nada Tejada is retiring. To join his bud Zimmy at Smart Growth International? Soon to be followed by Pub Crawl Mary Hynes announcing her retirement? We can only hope. And Chief of Reactive Policing Scott is retiring in March.

But the one person in County Government who should retire, right now, is County Manager Donnellan.Every County Board meeting she gets worse. This past County Board meeting it was like she was elected County Supervisor and the County Board members were appointed by her.

Then there are the poor decisions and no decisions Barbara is responsible for that make her title an oxymoron....ranging from million dollar dog parks and bus shelters to welfare for wealthy corporations and non-profits to a bloated economic development bureaucracy that's been so spectacularly unsuccessful that homeowners are bearing the increase in the cost of County Government next fiscal year. But Barbara's worst performance involves fiscal management and the County's lack thereof. I have to wonder what's going on when, with all the slush funds Barbara controls, she vehemently opposes an independent internal auditor who reports to the County Board, to the point that the County Board has to go to the General Assembly for permission to hire one.

So I thank Barbara for her many years of service to the County but it's really time for her to retire.

Second the motion.

I was watching the Tuesday County Board meeting on my laptop and I asked myself "Who elected her?"

So the Lexus Libs and Range Rover NeoCons are going tit for tat in Richmond over criminalizing human sexuality vs. criminalizing firearms. Oh, then there's the Lexus Lib attempt to criminalize fraternities. So what's the status of Delegate Pat "Trolley Pub" Hope's bill to allow Arlington to have an Independent Internal Auditor?

She and Michelle spent months working on the Signature bailout.

That's why she doesn't get enough sleep...too busy spending evenings working on corporate welfare and welfare for the wealthy gimmes.

Yes, thank you Barbara, and goodbye.

Arlington Reactive Police Department Chief Scott? No fooling...the Arlington Police Department is 100% reactive and 0% proactive.

It gets worse. ACPD spends its time on "community policing" activities like following homeless people up and down the B-R corridor.

Here's an idea -- A Mardi Gras float sponsored by the County Treasurer's Office with Barbara dressed as Miss P.

How about this team for the International Police Games? "Most Police Officers Following One Homeless Person Around Ballston", four ACPD officers for 8 hours.

How many millions are Barbara and Dennis Leach spending preparing the Crystal City Transitway for streetcars before the streetcar projects are closed out?

Since the County Treasurer's Office has lavishly spent tax dollars we squeeze from struggling small businesses for Frank O'Leary's pet projects, ranging from the U.S.S. Arlington to the annual car tax decal party, why shouldn't Carmen pick up where Frank left off?

Thanks for this blog. I learn more about what's actually occurring in Arlington from one topic posted in this blog than from one year of reading the Sun Gazette.

Speaking of fat and flatulent pigs, how about the guy who runs the Arlington County Taxpayers Association who spends his time spamming us with his Tea Party drivel about what Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, and the Koch Brothers are up to?

Second the motion for Barbara to appear in the Mardi Gras Parade dressed in a Miss Piggy costume.

How about Scotty McCaffrey doing his Holden Caufield at Herndon High School impersonation on a Mardi Gras float sponsored by Inside Nova?

How about the clown who runs ArlNow divulging the Web addresses of the County employees at 2100 Clarendon Blvd. who post at least 50% of what appear as comments on ArlNow?

Barbara and Dennis will 'close out' spending for the Pike and Crystal City streetcars when planning for the Crystal City streetcar is completed.

The car tax decal competition is a party paid for by taxpayers and is illegal.

ACPD also spends huge amounts of time in Pentagon City and Ballston following African Americans and Latinos.

Didn't the County Board give Donnellan and Leach something like $26 million to spent on streetcar system design? How much has been spent? How much of what's not been spent will be spent?

Car tax decal party is blatant misuse of government funds.

Thank you for reporting what the local media will not --- millions are being spent to design a streetcar system for the Crystal City transitway.

So it's been 2 1/2 months since the County Board dropped the streetcars and they are still working on the streetcars at 2100 Clarendon Blvd, according to Miss D. at Tuesday's County Board meeting.

How much of the $26 million the County Board appropriated for the Pike and Crystal City streetcar system design is still being spent to design a Crystal City streetcar system?

Anonymous said...

Who do I call in the County Manager's Office to ascertain how much Miss Piggy has spent on streetcars since the County Board pulled the plug on streetcars?

Thanks for this blog...which completely outclasses the dumbasses at the Post, ArlNow, Inside Nova, etc., who are are for Arlington Government's 'Fleece the Sheeple' agenda.
