Hi Yupette,
Another Democratic caucus, another opportunity for surrogate and non-resident voters to determine the outcome, as happened recently. Appears the surrogate vote will be minor today and Saturday compared to the non-resident Young Democrats who will vote using their parents' address, non-residents who have an Arlington address and ID they use to enroll their kids in Arlington's schools, and so on.
This is a must win for the Democratic Old Guard aka Zimmercrats who want to keep the New Urbanism aka Smart Growth streetcar on the tracks. State Board of Elections won't be watching, so the Caucus will be the usual charade.
Thanks for your blog. No question about who I'm voting for - I'm another Arlington Resident who's voting Cord for Board.
another fed-up Dem

'as happened recently'. You wouldn't be referring to last year's school board caucus, would you?
Yo, UVA YD's are car and van pooling in on Saturday. Hit us up on the YD blog if you need a ride.
Chris was more than generous by having the school system ignore County employees who moved out of the county continuing to send our kids to Arlington schools. Least we can do is return the favor by voting for Alan.
Non-resident county planning staff, you know what to do. A vote for Peter is a vote for full employment for CPHD staff.
JMU YDs from Arlington should contact Kristine for ride info.
Not surprising. They make almost all the important decisions for us, why shouldn't they vote here?
YDs
Bring your old voter card from when you were living with your parents in Arlington.
Surrogates
You should physically resemble the person whose ID you are using to vote, if someone asks you for ID.
How can my 11th Grade Government Ethics class get to observe this caucus? What a wonderful example of grassroots democracy.
If you are a YD and say you are living with parents (make up a reason) and have a voter card with your parents' adress no one will challenge that unless you're one of the 50 or so YDs who are active in ACDC and network.
Yeah, I can see if the Regime were looking the other way while your kids go to school here, you work at 2100, and you live in PW that you might want to continue doing that.
Must Win for Chris Zimmerman so he can freely lobby the County Board on behalf of Smart Growth America and for his Pike streetcar system.
It's a Democratic Machine, folks. Has been for about the past 15 years.
I attended tonight and it was a charade from 7 PM on. Obviously, the candidate (Fallon or Howze) who can persuade the most 'Democrats' to vote early-and-often will 'win'.
Attention College YDs for Alan - The Howze Victory Party is at A-Town Saturday night. Delegate Patrick Hope and the Trolley Pub will be featured. Don't forget to bring the IDs you used to vote when you lived with your parents in Arlington with you to vote in the caucus on Saturday.
Another corrupt regime kept in power by a massive legal system/law enforcement organization that thrives on waging extra-legal warfare on anyone who opposes the status quo.
No, Arlington is a classic oligarchy where the legal system promotes the interests of the oligarchs.
Did you attend the Committee of 100 meeting last night, featuring Gentrification J. Fi$ette?
I thought it was 40 oligarchs (including county board members) who only talk to and listen to each other.
How many times can they break into your home (even homes with secure door locks) turn on the lights and pee in the toilets without that becoming old?
Ask Sheriff Beth and her Deputy Dawgs.
They also use 'directed audio' which is sound projected like a flashlight beam to make nonconforming sheeple think they are hearing voices in their heads.
Secure door locks are in the same realm of fiction as secure internet.
Yupette, Cindy, if we ever find you, you are going to be arrested and immediately and repeatedly strip searched and brought to trial for whatever we can charge you with.
Fuck You, Beth.
I voted for Cord Thomas last night and saw people I thought had moved out of Arlington years ago voting.
It was a complete charade, like the groundhog seeing his shadow today when western Pennsylvania was completely overcast. And I got up at 7 AM and looked at the on-line radar and satellite maps.
