Hello Yupette,
I attended Wednesday's ACDC monthly meeting and heard Peter Fallon, Alan Howze, and Cord Thomas attempt to out-Zimmerman Chris Zimmerman. What a hoot. Aren't we giving enough corporate welfare to the REITs who are creating both a office space and housing bubble, and corporations that are bringing thousands of low-paid jobs to Arlington? Peter, Alan, and Cord never met a greedy corporate executive they didn't like.
Oh, speaking of C.Z., he's going to be spending more time in the County Board offices next year lobbying to inflict New Urbanism on our neighborhoods than he's spending this year as a County Board member.
But what can you expect from a political party that's been in power and controlled everything for more than 30 years?
fed up Dem

Gourmet Jay and Frank-the-Decal have endorsed Howze. Guess that means there's going to be a county owned and operated swimming pool in my neighborhood's future next to the new live theater and the car tax bureaucracy will continue to squander tax dollars.
Zimmy's favorite New Urbanism Guru, Victor Dover, was pitching his Smart Growth drivel to the sheeple at George Mason last night.
"It shouldn't take a year to open a new restaurant in Arlington".
Yes, open more new restaurants immediately. We really need more jobs that pay $8 an hour. Start with adding more frozen yoghurt shops.
New Urbanism? Peter Fallon rubber stamped every dumb growth site plan for almost ten years when he was on the Planning Commission.
Meanwhile in the real world, the Tea Party Members of Congress are talking more sequestration so they can go to the voters in their districts next fall telling them they cut taxes.
Looks like the Post's Arlington-Alexandria newsie has been assigned to covering events like wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington Cemetery by the Bezos Team.
Think Jeff Bezos wants socialist ideas like affordable housing and a living wage appearing in the Post -- if he can avoid it?
Race is between Howze and Fallon. Howze has been a total Zimmerman partisan. Fallon has pushed Zimmerman's neighborhood-by-neighborhood urbanization aka smart growth. Thomas has pushed a couple of Zimmerman's environmental charades.
Question I have is how much is Zimmerman going to be lobbying the County Board and how much is he going to be making from lobbying the CB to destroy the rest of Arlington's suburban neighborhoods?
Wonder if Zimmy's 60-something facilitators, Inta, Carrie, etc., will be retiring with Zimmy?
Once Zimmy leaves the C.B. I'm going to do to him what he and his Democratic ward heelers do to neighborhood residents who don't go along with the smart growth program - report him to the cops as a suspicious person if I see him lurking in my neighborhood.
I am sure the selection of a Zimmerman clone will be debated to death by the crowd that posts to the ArlNow blog: county employees, chamber of commerce boosters, and hedo yuptards.
Time for them ALL to go...Republicrats, Ivy League Green Party, CivFed Geezers, Committee of 100 BSers, and so on. Fifteen years of urbanization for the sake of urbanization is enough. Time to elect Independents who will put an end to the smart growth stupidity.
It's Sunday December 8th at 1:00 PM. Raining, and Sleeting in Arlington. Folks, DO NOT go out in this weather in your all-weather, all-terrain SUVs.
Use Chris Zimmerman's Smart Growth Winter Transportation Option instead...Endorsed by the Arlington County Board, Coalition for Smarter Growth, and Smart Growth America.
Ride a bicycle everywhere this Winter. It's the only safe and sane thing for Arlington's sheeple to do when the winter weather is really bad. Be sure to carry a cell phone to call 9-1-1 when you fall off your bike and bust your butt. Encourage others to do the same. We only have about 3 months more of winter weather until spring. Make the most of winter biccyle transportation options.
Let's not forget Zimmy packing Arlington Government with about 50 PR flacks over the past 15 years to push Smart Growth.
It's snowing. Stay off the roads. Ride your bicycle instead. It's the Smart Growth Way, formerly the Arlington Way.
Over the past 15 years Zimmerman has created a huge bureaucracy of non-residents, from the County Manager on-down to the so-called "Planners" who make their living from destroying suburban neighborhoods with urban in-fill.
These non-residents owe nothing except their paychecks to Arlington County aka Chris Zimmerman.
Yes, at least 50 County employees churn out propaganda for Smart Growth.
The County's bureaucracy is H U G E. Few of them choose to live in Arlington, even if they can afford to. Our poor tiny County is going to be overwhelmed by in-fill. What do they care. Like Zimmerman they will retire, to a place 200 miles from the nearest new urbanist redevelopment.
