Hey, Yupette,
In the event you wondered what's next on Chris Zimmerman's urbanization agenda, it's putting a Jumbotron in your neighborhood. Yep, already went to the Planning Commission on Monday, going to the County Board next week on the consent agenda and in December for approval. The Jumbotrons would be huge, up to 750 square feet, that's 37 feet by 20 feet.
County Planning Staff ran the idea of Jumbotrons in neighborhoods like Shirlington Village past three Arlington residents and received a thumbs up from all three.
What was the Planning Commision to do? They serve at the pleasure of Chris Zimmerman.

Let me guess the names of the three residents: Carrie, Herschel, and Melissa.
What can you expect when incumbents are re-elected with 71% of the vote?
Yeah, they need a Jumbotron in Shirlington to flash the message "Stay Alive, Don't Drink and Drive" to people leaving the next Shirlington Oktoberfest and trying to remember where in the area they parked their vehicles
Apparently there was out and out lying by County Staff about surveying residents of the neighborhoods where Zimmy wants the Jumbotrons installed.
The Jumbotrons will all be synchronized to flash the subliminal message "Don't Worry. Be Happy. We Know What's Best For You. Your County Board".
Also: "Pay No Attention To The Rumors You Hear About Smart Growth".
Speaking of Smart Growth, Zimmy just announced he's retiring early next year to become VP of Urban Gentrification aka Economic Development at Smart Growth America.
He should take his amigo Nada Tejada with him.
I will send you some info about just how bad the Zimmerman Regime has been, now that he's going elsewhere to impose Gentrification on America.
Oh, I see, an early Christmas present for Zimmy's corporate cronies. Wonder how many more will be on the consent agenda for next week's CB meeting?
Consent agenda should be on-line tomorrow.
Watch for Christmas gifts to Zimmy's pet organizations the next two County Board meetings.
Item 20 on November 16th CB Meeting Consent Agenda.
Zimmy, Arlington's Apostle of Smart Growth, retires and does what? Makes a fortune helping REITs gentrify the middle class out of older suburbs across America.
Smart Growth? Build an 'urban village' in Shirlington and put a 30 foot by 20 foot Jumbotron in the Village Square? Duh.
How about: Zimmy Gets the Goldmine - We Suffer the Consequences.
Zimmy gets to work with, and for, the same corporations he rolled out the red carpet for the past 15 years. Only instead of making $50,000 a year he'll be making $500,000.
Taxpayer-funded TIF for Zimmy's corporate cronies who are redeveloping the Pike is also on Saturday's regular hearing agenda.
Attention American Middle Class: Smart Growth America has big plans for your affordable moderate-income older suburb.
How much has Zimmy made from 'consulting' activities this year?
You can clearly see Shirlington from Utah Park / Fairlington during winter months. Also, how many residents of Shirlington would be looking at a Jumbotron when they looked out their windows?
Someone pulled this item (20) from the consent agenda, so we'll hear about it next Tuesday night.
Early Christmas present to Zimmy's neighbors along the Pike this afternoon.
