Hello, Yupette,
I called a person on Arlington's Planning Staff last week and talked with him about the EFC - Westover - Williamsburg give-way to Marymount and Bishop O'Connell HS. He was sympathetic (actually even lives in Arlington) but stated at the end of our conversation: "You have to understand. We are only following the County Board's orders. If you want to have any recourse about this project you should talk with Barbara Favola".

Better yet, Dennis, you could call Reitminister of Recreation and Entertaiment Favola's Facilitator - Sargeant Barbara "I see nothing, I hear nothing, I know nothing" Donnellan-Shulz.
Hard to reach Barbara - she doesn't live in Arlington and her whereabouts are known to only a few in the County Manager's Office.
Ya know, we are supposed to be 'civil' to these people but when have they ever done anything for us except take our tax dollars to be used for their pet people and projects?
Why don't you call Republican Soccer Parent of the Year in 2010 - Mark Kelly?
Call the REIT media coordinator, McCaffrey, at the Chamber of Commerce.
Barbara doesn't listen - except to the people who sign her paycheck at Marymount.
Am I supposed to be civil to Barbara Favola, who is going to inundate my neighborhood with traffic and keep my family awake until midnight, because she is Chief Lobbyist for Marymount University and Marymount reportedly pays her $100,000 per year to facilitate building more in-fill in Arlington's residential neighborhoods?
Yupette, did you see the revised EFC neighborhood destruction plan? County has Palinized the plan -- note the bullseye on page 6.
Civility?
Here's the Obama 3-step that's destroyed civility:
Step 1 Get elected during a bad recession by promising to turn around the economy.
Step 2 Bail out Wall Street, the banks, and the insurance companies, but let unemployment and foreclosures remain unchanged.
Step 3 When the unemployed and foreclosed become really angry tell them they have to be 'civil'.
I was not happy about Obams's speech last night. Yes, we are a nation of 300 million (almost 312 million). And, Mr. President, we've given you and your predecessor all you've wanted and more. And endured the erosion of our rights over the past decade to the point that we drive rather than fly, that we defer necessary infrastructure to fund undeclared wars, that our personal lives are subject to intrusive behavior on the part of "law enforcement" that would have outraged the framers of the Constitution.
Did you know there was 1 murder in Arlington last year? And crime is way way down. Does anyone in County Government ever say - 'time out on converting more civil rights into privileges'? Nope, look at the laundry list of bills being debated in the Virginia General Assembly that do just that.
Fact is there are more people who dies from excessive use of force by the Arlington Police than are murdered.
Frank, fact is that if you are sitting in your SUV in your driveway on a nice day and cleaning the interior windows the Arlington Police can make you take a 'field sobriety test' based on an anonymous complaint by one of Zimmerman's ward heelers that you are 'intoxicated'.
If the Pro-Lifer NeoCons who run the Arlington Republican Party weren't so into publicly funding private schools and religious schools we would see a lawsuit against Favola, Marymount, and O'Connell. And maybe a recall petition against Favola.
John Shooshan, developer of Liberty Center and Founder’s Square and a front-runner for the REIT’s plays the interlocking board/directorate game with Barbara Favola. Arlington County government is fraught with conflicts of interests. Boards, commissions and associations drive county government and freeze out the ordinary folk.
