School Board Majority Signs on to Zimmerman's Massive Pike Gentrification

Hi Yupette,

In the event you wondered who else supports Zimmerman's massive Pike gentrification besides the Arlington Democratic Party, Republican Party, and Chamber of Commerce, a majority of the Arlington School Board has also signed on. Massive resegregation through gentrification is the easiest way for the Arlington School System to rid itself of low performing poor and ESL students and boost test scores. The School Board majority concluded that poor and ESL parents will never have the time and disposable income for their children to succeed in Arlington's increasingly elitist school system and the best solution is to remove 'nonconforming' students from the school system altogether.

You are leaving out the local media, like the Post who supported Fenty's massive gentrification of DC, the Falls Church News-Press which does not admit the existence of a minority population in FC, and the Sun Gazette, whose editor is a shill for chamber of commerce elitists.

School Board Majority? Like Sally Baird, Libby Garvey, and Abby Raphael?

Did you notice that the Sun Gazette is running retro articles about the golden days of suburban de facto segregation, early 1960s?

All of them.... said...

A majority not challenged by the go along to get along minority representatives – Ms. “I Represent the APS Bureaucracy” Violand-Sanchez and Mr. “I Am the Military-Industrial Complex” Lander.

'Look, we don't need any more factory workers. What we need is more cheerleaders and football players who can succeed as lawyers. Look at Michelle and me. We would be earning $75,000 a year if we'd gone into manufacturing instead of attending Harvard Law School. And many other kids from families of modest means who are successful Harvard Law School graduates - Senator Warner and Governor Kaine - are here tonight.

So don't let anyone tell you that the social skills you learn through cheerleading and playing team sports aren't important. Now, let's go on together to the Super Bowl, and may the best team win."

I am not voting for Walter Tejada in November. His vision for Arlington - "Every Playing Field a Soccer Field" - is not the direction Arlington should take in the 21st Century. Concomitant with massive "resegration through gentrification" we should be embracing a golf and tennis model for Arlington's education system.

In Arlington it was said...

More like de voter segregation back in the 60's. Renovation of TJ Middle School to accommodate integrated influx of black students was voted down -- referendum passed the second time around only when the theater, gym and recreation center were wrapped around it physically and financially.

Faster low income and minority parents are gentrified out less likely the School Board will have to deal with 5000+ additional students.

They are a bunch of limo liberal and country club republican elitists and racists like their parents were, 50 years ago.
