Want to see proof positive why Chris Zimmerman should not be re-elected? Check out the 4 hours he and the County Board kept EFC residents waiting for the EFC area plan to be heard while the CB micro-managed the outdoor restaurant seating for one of Fisette's pet restaurant owners.

And then Fisette had the gall to scold the EFC residents for incivility. The ordinary folks in neigborhoods like Madison Manor just want to peacefully lead their lives. They don't want the developers and the tax grubbing politicians to roll them over. When will enough Arlingtonians of voting age catch on to the game?
County Board and its pet Planning Commissioner, Nanny Nancy Hunt, made Shirlington into a mega-infill rush hour traffic mess even without HOT lanes. They want to do the same to EFC
Hey, EFC residents gave the County Board s*** right back. I loved it.
BTW, owner of the building where the County Board was micro-managing the restaurant seating is none other than Ed Peete.
Nanny Nancy was prowling the halls of the 2100 building looking for juicy morsels of gossip.
Isn't it obvious - County Board wants EFC to be another Shirlington.
Zimmerman and the rest of them are arrogant a-holes who no longer give a s--t. Today proved it.
You still have 2 days to sign the change the government petition if you haven't already signed.
Kevin Chisholm for County Board !!!
What happens next? They will bribe some out-of-state developer with proffers, bonus density, tax incentives etc., to design some crappy looking building or buildings and start the site plan process.
If they can't bribe an out-of-state developer they'll ask their good bud, Ed Peete.
This is the same Ed Peete whose vacant and derelict building was an eyesore for years on Lee Highway?
I DO NOT want "County Staff" to be responsible for EFC "planning". Most of these people don't live in the County and are for development, ANY development. What they are very very good at is "working with developers" of ugly, energy-inefficient, and unaffordable area plans and site plans. And ignoring the concerns of Arlington residents in affected neighborhoods.
Did you see McCaffrey's reporting of yesterday's CB meeting? He's obviously anti-community and pro development, any development. But of course he's a realtor and on the board of the chamber of commerce.
If you want proof that McCaffrey is anti-community and pro-mega development, read his Sun Gazette blog postings about yesterday's County Board meeting. Who do I write at American Community Newspapers? McCaffrey, like his good bud, Zimmerman, has gone from being a community nuisance to a major threat to the quality of life in non-infilled residential areas.
Don't forget the contribution of Planning Commissioner Nancy Hunt to the 3-hour restaurant seating debate. Nancy earned her honorary doctorate from the Village of Shirlington in Outdoor Restaurant Seating Micromanagement and Outdoor Restaurant Music Micromanagement.
Hand-off to County Staff? Several live in Falls Church and have expressed absolutely ZERO concern about massive in-fill in their own neighborhoods. They all admit to doing what they are told to do by the County Manager.
What do Nanny Nancy Hunt, Smitty McCaffrey, and Gentrification Jay Fisette have in common? All three are allowing the streetscapes in their yupscale neighborhoods to deteriorate to point where the streets are a hazard and will require major upgrades, at which point Smitty, Nancy, and Jay will rally the neighbors for massive "traffic calming".
County Planning Staff Sucks !!!! These are the LAST people who should make decisions about our community. They do whatever the County Board via the County Manager tells them to do.
Listen carefully to what Condo Chris had to say -- hurry up yuppyfication of this nieghbohood so the developers who pad my pockets can be first in line to reap the rewards.
Hand-off to County Staff? You must mean the usual mega-development hand-off to County Staff who don't live in the County and who hand off the project to dumbass developers from outside Virginia.
What else is new? They are desperately looking for a developer or developers who they can bribe with bonus density, etc., to do a Shirlington on EFC.
Ditto for Arlington Mill.
Let's not forget the role of County Manager of Gentrification Mike Brown, the former Savannah City Manager of Gentrification.
Zimmerman kining his pockets? Hey, his family has lots of expenses.
What else is new? County Board members, advisory commission members, and county staff regularly receive "gifts" from developers.
Hand off to County Staff means hand off to one or another of the County Board's pet developers and its law firm.
