July 10th County Board Meeting - Christmas in July for EFC Developers

Hello, Yupette,

What is Zimmerman's East Falls Church redevelopment scheme all about? It's Christmas in July for the County Board's pet developers who will receive hundreds of millions of dollars in proffers, bonus density, and tax shelters for building another Clarendon. It's another ego trip for mega-development maniac Chris Zimmerman. It's another dumb growth redevelopment that only a Yuptard could love - and they do. How much more of this dumb growth do we have to endure?

Zimmerman has got to go. County staff "discovered" serious problems with the EFC task force recommendations. Both work for Zimmerman. Do I see another planning charade in the works?

Zimmerman is so into his mega-builder ego trip he has lost all sense of what is best for the County and its residents.

EFC = development for the sake of development.

EFC is one of those stupid edge of jurisdiction density ideas -- Condo Chris thinks he can get away with it because most of the gridlock will fall onto the shoulders residents of Fairfax County and Falls Church City. Well, guess what Chris, we are watching, we are watching. Some of us actually want to leave the County every now and again.

According to this week's FC News Press the FC City Council will pull the plug on tax support for the George bus within 3 months.

Chris, please answer the question: What will happen when 85,000 Metrorail commuters from Dulles and Dulles reach EFC at 8 AM weekdays?

Why is the County Board litigating HOT lanes? Because they pulled the same mega-development stunt on the borders with Alexandria and Fairfax County and they know that the area will be gridlocked if HOT lanes are constructed.

Use the George bus? Meet up with Charlie Denney today at the County Board meeting and reserve your shared bicycle.
