Hello, Yupette,
It appears that it was only "massive resistance" by our neighborhood that prevented our local library from being relocated to Arlington Mill so Arlington Mill would become more attractive to developers.
Arlington County is run for and by developers. I believe that lots of these development and redevelopment "decision makers" are being paid-off, starting with the County Board.
Time for a change of government in Arlington County !!!

Will the employees of on-site retail at Arlington Miss (when it's finally constructed) be able to live on-site?
How about a thread about tjhe County's outrageous Capital Improvement Program where all the pet projects received funding?
Time for a huge turn out from EFC neighbors at the next County Board meeting to oppose Zimmerman's "development for the sake of development".
How about McCaffrey's editorai (ghost written by the chamber of commerce) opposing the County's HOT Lanes litigation? Where was McCaffrey when all the parking was approved for various developments around his own neighborhood?
YES, time for major opposition to EDC and other dumb growth infill. Enough is enough. What the hell are we anyway? A suburb or one after another development of ugly condos and apartments?
Time to take back Arlington from the developers, chamber of commerce, auto dealers, and special interests.
Don't forget the local media who serve the status quo and special interests.
Where was McCaffrey when all the in fill development was approved for Arlington along with 30,000 new parking spaces? Selling ads for the new development.
STOP EFC development. We are headed for massive gridlock. We cannot absorb all the vehicles. Why are the so called planners so stupid?
My sister lives in Savannah. How did our new County Manager fight poverty and revitalize Savannah's economy when he was City Manager there? Through massive gentrification.
The developers would rather not have so much parking on-site. Zimmerman and the County Board require them to.
"Smart Groth" is Racist as well as being Elitist. If you look at Savannah and lots of other older cities where "Smart Growth" is the norm you will find that all the city's resources are directed toward gentrification and "yupscale" neighborhoods.
So it's not surprising that the streets in south Arlington don't get paved while millions are directed to wealthy live-theater groups.
