Hi Yupette,
If you Google "Solar Pool Heaters" you will see that there are many to choose from and most are inexpensive. Many have photovoltaic panels to power the pump that circulates water through the panel. There is no reason why anyone needs to heat an in-ground or above-ground pool with natural gas or electricity off the grid.
I'm writing my condo association and asking that it purchase a solar heater and install it ASAP to heat water before our pool opens in May.

My brother has been using a solar heater for his in-ground pool for several years. Cost $400 and paid for itself in one year. He lives in North Carolina.
Yes, I did a Google search. Any of the inexpensive solar pool heaters made in the USA by Americans?
Looks like a few may be Made in USA.
What have the Republicrats done to make solar a reality in Arlington? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING !!!
What the hell have the Greens been doing abut solar? Lobbying for more homeless shelters.
Greenies should lobby to put solar water heating panels on the roof of "their" homeless shelter? Why do they need to be told?
Hi Yupette,
I just saw that Bishop O'Connell HS will be installing rooftop solar panels.
Ken
Yeah, O'Connell doesn't get to make the taxpayers pay for high energy costs from an older energy inefficient building.
