Hi Yupette,
Here is a link to the design specifications (in a pdf file) for the solar and geothermal installation at Minnie Howard School in Alexandria:
I live in Roanoke and we are experiencing the same "$$mart Growth" bull$hit gentrification as Arlington, though Roanoke is about 10 years behind Arlington.
I would like to see a thread about $$mart Growth gentrification as racist and elitist neo-apartheid, which it definitely is.
PS. You should correct the spelling of your Board of Supervisors' Chair's name - it's Fi$$ette.
In other states it's illegal to construct energy-inefficient public infrastructure. For example, local and state governments can't legally spend tax dollars to install mercury vapor street lighting but must install sodium and LED street lighting.
Environment? What Environment? Obama will pave the USA to get the economy going and light the pavement with power from nuke energy and oil from off the East Coast.
$un Fi$ette editor $cott McCaffrey is in Tampa this week. So what's he reporting in the $un Fi$ette blog? NOT the high speed rail project between Tampa and Orlando. Nope. The new high speed roller coaster at King's Dominion.
First thing that would happen if the $un Fi$ette stopped being a PR outlet for County Government is the FC News Press would start an Arlington Edition which would be distributed all over N. Arlington.

Hi,
Someone pointed me to your blog.

R in Roanoke
Arlington Mill will NOT be energy efficient.
Arlington Mill's design contract will be on the County Board's agenda at the continued County Board meeting - January 26th at 6:30 PM.
In other states it's illegal to construct energy-inefficient public infrastructure. For example, local and state governments can't legally spend tax dollars to install mercury vapor street lighting but must install sodium and LED street lighting.
Post and Sun-Fi$ette just ran articles about the latest green gimmick, solar powered parking meters.
Dude, it's spelled " $un Fi$ette ".
NY Times yesterday - Wind Power is going to be really really big in the future.
County Board is in the left pocket of Dominion Resources. Media are in the right pocket.
Presidnet Obama constantly talks about Green jobs. What are local Democrats doing? Cozying up to the fossil fuel corporations.
Environment? What Environment? Obama will pave the USA to get the economy going and light the pavement with power from nuke energy and oil from off the East Coast.

We don't need an Inspector General in state and local government. We need the local news media to start doing investigative journalism.
Agreed. See what happened when the Post investigated WMATA?

Anyone know about renewable energy at the Walter Reed Career Center? School system just received $3.3 million in stimulus funding for renovations.
