Average age of a civic federation delegate who attends CivFed meetings is 75. Also, if any minority group person tries to get involved he is told he is not welcome.
Question from a non-delegate (Latina who has been repeatedly told that her civic association does not want troublemakers attending meetings, meaning my asking why no Latinoa and Latinas attend civic association meetings):
Mr. Zimmerman, given your terrible record on the WMATA board and fiscally irresponsibility on the County Board, why won't you resign from both boards and allow competent persons to serve?
Question for Jay Fisette: How many hundreds of millions will Arlington taxpayers have to pay for more of your extravagant entertainment and recreation projects?
Yupette, it was more of the same from the Civic Federation last night. The County Board put them all on a committee, commission, etc., so they're part of the problem.
The CivicFederation has been thoroughly co-opted by the Yupublicrats, to the point where it debates new Yuppie recreation and entertainment infrastructure at length but can't get the county's streets repaved.

It's time to write the IRS about the Civic Federation. Why is this elitist club given a non-profit tax exemption?
Joan, same can be said about most civic associations (Barcroft, Fairlington, Douglas Park, etc.).
