On November 18th, the Alexandria Department of Transportation and Environmental Services will hold a public planning charade at Minnie Howard School, to discuss the Alexandria DOT's plans to dump massive BRAC traffic from Mark Center onto Walter Reed Drive and King Street / Route 7.
Minnie Howard School is located at 3801 West Braddock Road in Alexandria.
The planning charade will commence at 6 PM and end at 8 PM.
Arlington County has already given the green light for DOD to destroy several Arlington neighborhoods (including Claremont and Fairlington) with BRAC traffic from Mark Center, thanks to pressure from Congressman Jim Moran.

The community that would be most severely impacted by this BRAC-related traffic mess would be the Arlington Condominiums, home of none other than Scott McCaffrey, Editor of the Sun Gazette and a Vice Chairman of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce.
Don't hold your breath waiting for Scotty to mention this meeting via the SG.
More traffic on Rt 7? Isn't it bad enough already?
Scotty isn't going to do anything that would offend an auto dealership that's a member of the Arlington Chamber.
Alexandria DOT? What that really means is Alexandria Department of Streets, Roads, Highways, Parking, and Traffic.
See what the owner of the Sun Gazette - General Electric - is doing while Scotty is becoming a local Sean Hannity? According to the Wall Street Journal today, GE is grabbing for every chunk of bail out cash the Obama Administration is handing out.
I saw the WSJ article. GE CEO Jeff Immelt (who supported McCain and Palin) is America's new King of Corporate Welfare.
Anyone interested in an informal meeting after the Alexandria VDOT charade?
When does King Street get repaved and a better traffic control system installed? When King Street is gridlocked in 3 years?
Susan, where can we meet? Every restaurant on Rt. 7 has full parking lots at 8 PM.
While Alexandria VDOT is at it something should be done about street lighting and pedestrian safety on King Street.
I wrote to Alexandria DOT about my gridlock concerns. no response.
Yes, it was a charade. No concern about us. Every concern about the BRAC Bubbas who will be driving to Mark Center 1 per pickup truck.
Concern was also about the flow of traffic through a redeveloped Rt 7 from Walter Reed Drive out to Rt 50.
They are all greedy pigs: pols, developers, lawyers, VDOT, "community leaders", everyone involved with development.
The various chambers of commerce set the agenda for their local governments. How about a thread?
