How Efficient is the Arlington County Treasurer's Office?

Arlington County Treasurer Frank O'Leary claims his office is a paragon of efficiency. But did you ever receive a bill for your vehicle personal property tax this year?

No I DID NOT. Thanks for reminding me. It's due today.

When I paid off my mortgage a couple years ago I had the Treasurer's Office directly debit my savings account to pay my real estate taxes. So what do they do now? Send me a tax bill and a threatening letter in May and September. I didn't receive a vehicle personal property tax bill. Paid it on-line from a credit card. May attend the next County Board meeting and tell the GreedyCrats how wonderfully efficient their friend Frank is.

What's with the County Treasurer's Office? Well they're preoccupied with attending Nats games and events during baseball season. As soon as baseball season ends Frank's employees have to work for political campaigns. After the elections they have to plan Frank's big St. Patrick's Day party. So it's no wonder Ken didn't receive a personal property tax bill this year.

You mean you are receiving a bill and a warning letter with a return envelope and you have your taxes automatically withdrawn from your bank account twice a year? No wonder the seniors are upset.

How else do you expect Arlington to be able to afford building a live theater in every neighborhood?

I didn't receive a bill for vehicle personal property tax either, only a letter in June reminding me to pay it.

You were supposed to forget and then have to pay the penalty. County needs those tax penalty dollars for more recreation.

Wonder how much all the letters telling people who paid their taxes to pay their taxes cost the taxpayers?

Worse than that, they are calling Seniors and flim-flamming us into paying taxes and fees in advance.

Wonder how many Seniors forgot they signed up for direct debit and are writing a check when the tax bill arrives in the mail?
