Hello,
AY learned early this week that the ArlNow news blog, owned and published by Scott Brodbeck, planned to humiliate County Board Independent candidate Audrey Clement during the Arlington Democratic Party's victory celebration at Sehkraft last night. Based upon e-mail provided to AY by a Clement campaign insider, Brodbeck invited Clement, who has been demonized for years by Arlington's Democrats, to an ArlNow interview at Sehkraft last night without telling Clement that Arlington Democrats would be holding their victory party at SehKraft.
Clement initially agreed to the interview, but sensibly asked Brodbeck to be interviewed in a neutral setting when she learned that she was being set up for humiliation or worse. Members of the family that owns and operates SehKraft were unaware that Brodbeck had invited Clement and other non-Democrat candidates to be interviewed at Sehkraft until told by a Clement campaign worker. The Arlington police were also informed about Broadbeck's antics.
Another episode in the ongoing saga of the media elite who profit from Smart Growth gentrification vs. Arlington residents like Audrey Clement whose moderate income apartments are slated to be bulldozed for luxury townhomes.

How sane is that? Inviting candidates who local Democrats dspise into a high-tension environment where lots of alcohol is being consumed.
Scott Brodbeck is getting rich being a new urbanism booster at the expense of Arlington's suburban neighborhoods.
Are Jeff Bezos (owns the Post) and Richard L. Connor (owns Inside Nova / Sun Gazette) any better?
Wait until the Trump Administration takes the axe to the bloated inside-the-beltway federal bureaucracies.
I would say that Brodbeck wanted to generate news by orchestrating an alcohol-fueled confrontation among political partisans who despise each other.
Post's management is under-the-gun to become a Profit Center for Bezos.
No suprises -- Scott Brodbeck and Scott McCaffrey both studied at the Richard L. Connor School of Journalism.
Family that owns Sehkraft, not Scott Brodbeck, would have suffered the consequences with ABC had a fight occurred.
Media earn more brownie points with local pols by denigrating Audrey.
Audrey was back at the County Board telling CB members if they pave the county over they are going to have to get used to flash floods during near-hurricanes.
What's Rich Connor up to these days, besides counting all the loot his little media empire earns from advertising Smart Growth inside the beltway and suburban sprawl outside the beltway?
If anyone who posts comments on ArlNow even mentions the AY blog he/she is kicked off permanently.
Go to arlnow.com and check out Scott Brodbeck's policy regarding removal of names and photos of people from ArlNow who are found innocent of crimes, or where criminal charges are dropped. This guy is really malicious. If I were Clement I would have obtained a restraining order against Brodbeck.
