New Urbanist Guru Victor Hoskins Mesmerized County Board Chair During 'Invitation Only' County Board Meeting

Hello,

We were, and are, appalled by the secretive antics the County Board and County Staff engaged in scheduling the 'invitation only' County Board Meeting on November 20th, to celebrate County Board Chair and WMATA Board Member Mary 'Safety Last' Hynes's so-called 'planning' for Arlington's so-called 'economic future'.

The County Board's Brain Trust's invitation-only Breakfast Meeting on November 20th was more of the same old, same old, with a bunch of middle-aged geezers toasting and applauding County Board Chair Mary Hynes's and New Urbanist Guru of Multi-Modal Gridlock Victor Hoskins's agenda for Arlington - neighborhood-by-neighborhood urbanization, while poaching in DC and other jurisdictions for more Millennials with extravagantly-compensated Top Secret security clearances.

No minority group members are ever seen on  the video of Arlington's decision makers. Obviously, County Government isn't about us, it's about yet another in-group of VIP Democrats appointed to another advisory group that, after much deliberation, tells County Board members what they want to hear.

But what else is new in Arlington?

Yup, it was a legal County Board Meeting. Click to enlarge John Vihstadt and Jay Fisette holding champagne glasses.

Mary, you are becoming sleepy...sleepy. When I count to three you will be in a total state of relaxation. One...Two...Three.

Mary, you must ignore the neighborhood nimbys, Arlington's only hope for a prosperous future is through total urbanization...total urbanization...total urbanization.

When I count to three you will wake up and feel energized and ready to implement the way forward. One...Two....Three.

Next unofficial official County Board meeting is the retirement reception for Mary and Walter on December 17th.

The way forward - poaching national security corporations employing Millennials with top secret clearances from DC - how smart is that?

I don't believe anything they say. I would like to know how much all the feel good propaganda they put out costs the taxpayers.

Can't have their New Urbanist hug fest in an open meeting. Restaurant owners in the B-R corridor might show up to express their displeasure with food trucks.

You forgot the part about all the taxpayer-funded incentives Guru Ho$kin$ will hand out on top of the usual corporate welfare.

Event was a New Urbanist Congregation worship service. Except PTL means "Pass The Loot".

Next New Urbanist Site Plan can Guru Ho$kin$ please have a dedicated Beer Pong Plaza included?

Like is the video of Victor making bedroom eyes at Mary and squeezing Mary's ass for real and not photo shopped?

Yes.

What the fuck do they care...30...29..28..27...days to go before retirement. They played, we will pay.

Video was produced and directed by AED.

I have to wonder what's happening tonight on Walter's Rancho Deluxe.

Meanwhile, Jay and JEV were discussing over champagne what to tell Jim Schwartz about the Fire Station 8 Committee not yet being majority-packed.

Earth to Acting County Manager Schwartz -- I DO NOT want to pay more in taxes to watch done-deal advisory commission charade meetings, or charade meetings packed with people who will vote as they are told to vote, in my home via AVN.

It will get worse. Incoming County Board Democrats are committed to giving APS and AHC open checkbooks on the County's funds, always $350 million or so in the reserves.

Where else are they going to find national security corporations employing Millennials with $100,000 per year in disposable income besides by poaching them?

They conveniently ignored the fact that the office vacancy rate is increasing.

I understand the word 'economic recession' was not spoken during their breakfast hug fest.

I would like to see an AVN demo project to broadcast the advisory group meetings for 90 days --- long enough for everyone to see the various committees, commissions, etc., are packed with upscale yellow dog democrats who vote as they are told.

AED is all for "diversity". A diversity of food trucks surrounding restaurants. What a bunch of jerks.

It will get worse, 50-somethings and 60-somethings are retiring from the advisory commissions and being replaced by Urban Hipster Millennials.

I am all for "Food Truck Sundays". Food trucks park at 7 AM in front of Victor's upscale home in Georgetown and Mary's upscale home in Lyon Park and the streets become "linear parks" for bicyclists, runners, skateboarders, street vendors, etc., to impose a more "vibrant" character to their quiet residential neighborhoods.

What ever happened to the alternatives for the Pike streetcar, like bus rapid transit and double deck buses?

Anonymous said...

'Food Truck Sundays'? Take a look at their 'Complete Streets' agenda item at the next County Board meeting.

Take a look at the School Board's and County Board's respective agendas. There is no doubt in my mind that within 10 years Arlington will be affordable only by the wealthy and by publically-subsidized middle income service employees who cater to the wealthy.

Anonymous said...

Yes, where are the BRT and double deck buses for the Pike? Double deck buses are becoming ubiquitous in DC.

New Urbanists are greedy pigs who get rich devouring suburban neighborhoods and converting them into Millennial cribs.

What is all the taxpayer-subsidized so-called 'affordable housing' being designed and built for? For the middle income ($40,000 to $60,000) servants of the Upscale so-called Creative Class.

Park some food trucks in front of Gentrification Jay's Ashton Heights House and Garden estate in at 7 AM Sunday morning. Include several street musicians and a 5K race.

After 25 years it's become obvious that New Urbanism is another name for neighborhood-by-neighborhood social and economic gentrification.

Anonymous said...

Yes. Why am I not surprised that no racial and ethnic minorities attended this meeting.

They were stuck in traffic commuting to Arlington from vibrant Prince William County.
