I see that Scott McCaffrey aka the Sun Gazette has been endorsing the same old same old for local office.
The Sun Gazette shouldn't be endorsing anyone. Sun Gazette's management allowed Scott McCaffrey to serve on the Chamber of Commerce's Executive Committee for years while problems turned into crises. Where were the Chamber, Sun Gazette, and Scott McCaffrey five years ago regarding the unacceptably high and growing commercial office vacancy rate? Endorsing the same old same old County Board members for re-election who said nothing and did nothing.
It's the same this time around. While we're at it, the Washington Post is in the same moribund state when it comes to endorsing local candidates. A recurrent rumor is that summer interns research all local candidates for public office and make recommendations to the Post's Editorial Board.
Aside from Scott McCaffrey's conflicts of interest, I have no confidence in a news organization that repeatedly crashes my laptop while I attempt to read on-line Inside Nova articles which I pay Inside Nova to read. Oh, since I don't live in North Arlington a print edition of the Sun Gazette isn't delivered to my home every week free of charge. Duh. Thanks for your blog. I'm voting for Mike and Audrey on November 3rd.

Same for Katie Cristol and Chris Dorsey. Where were they when school capacity, affordable housing, and the office vacancy rate were becoming big important issues?
Dorsey and Cristol were heavily involved with pet special interests who they've promised mega tax dollars in return for votes in November.
What about the Post? Doesn't the Post have business reporters and real estate reporters?
As I see it, Clement and McMenamin have been actively engaged in trying to improve the County for years. Cristol and Dorsey have been engaged with special interests that are constantly seeking more for their particular wants.
Abingdon School is a prime example. Christian Dorsey is on the Abingdon Building Level Planning Committee but the school building's renovation will be shortchanged to build more asphalt parking spaces and turn-arounds for Dorsey's fellow SUV parents.
Take this forward and we are looking at something like $90 million per year for so-called 'affordable housing' ALONE, to benefit Millennials who earn between $40,000 and $90,000 and the various upscale for-profits and non-profits who make loads of money from 'affordable housing' deals.
Local media go along with all this, which is why we get the same old same old Democrats with different faces elected and re-elected to County Government.
Acting County Manager is allowing development group to get rid of that pesky Exxon gas station in Ballston for more high rise luxury condos! Good luck trying to fill up your car in Ballston.
Why do I have to travel to Alexandria to buy products and services I need...battery replacement, immediate medical care, plant nursery and horticulture products, etc.?
We don't need any more restaurants competing with food trucks.
Interesting that Planning Division Director Bob Duffy lives in Alexandria.
Scott McCaffrey lives 100 yards from Abingdon School.
Agree. So-called 'affordable housing' benefits Millennials who earn between $40,000 and $90,000 and the non-profits and for-profits that cater to Millennials.
Already a line to fill vehicles at service stations. Where are the electric vehicle charging stations?
Obviously, an Editor constantly finds problems with candidates who are seeking solutions (Clement and McMenamin) and who apparently did nothing while on the Chamber's Executive Committee but publicize the Chamber's golf tournaments and galas will endorse a couple of fellow do-nothings like Dorsey and Cristol.
Cristol + Dorsey = Mega tax $$$$$ for special interests.
Scott McCaffrey has been the Editor of the Sun Gazette for what, ten years? When have we seen anything from him except out-and-out chamber of commerce boosterism?
Never?
Does unremitting trivia and drivel count?
Sun Gazette also supports all manner of pet special interests of the one-party regime.
Did Scott McCaffrey ever suggest that anyone even be reprimanded for out-and-out waste of tax dollars, like the million dollar bus shelter?
Yes, Post's summer interns research local candidates.
Latest about Scott. He visited Arlington Mill and reported about bumping into Chris Zimmerman. When has Inside Nova ever had anything to say about minority communities? Occasionally there is an article about the NAACP.
