'Shared Streets' Coming to Your Neighborhood
Hi Yupette -
Seen what those lovable New Urbanists are up to lately? Next phase of 'Complete Streets' will be 'Shared Streets'. I found a depiction of what 'Shared Streets' will look like in plans for Courthouse redevelopment, going to the Planning Commission and County Board this month. Just approved by the Millennials who now run the Transportation Commission. So what are 'Shard Streets'? Let everyone onto a street - motor vehicles, bicycles, skateboards, pedestrians, parents pushing strollers, seniors on mobility scooters, food trucks...everything. Traffic moves as fast as the slowest pedestrian. So here's the artist's depiction.

Artist needed to add 50 bikesters, 10 skateboarders, 10 parents pushing strollers, and 18 food trucks to the rendering.
What, no food trucks?
Where is the bicycle race?
Where are the passed-out Millennials?
Right, artist's depiction should include at least 3 passed out Millennials and several 'homeless' panhandlers.
Courthouse Sector Plan is going to the Planning Commission tonight - Agenda Item 7.
Courthouse Sector Plan artist's depictions should include Rocky Run Park circa 2025 how many people, dogs, bicycles, skateboards, etc., can you pack into 3 acres?
New Urbanism sucks. More bars, restaurants, and food trucks in our future.
Planning Commission members are talking about the future live-ability of the County.
Don't worry be happy -- Rosslyn Regional Jazz Festival is today. Bring an umbrella.
Defer Courthouse, Pentagon City, other mega development until next year when there are two new C.B. members and a new C.M. --- hope it's not Shwartz.
Live-ability? What live-ability? Planning? What Planning?
Affordable Housing Master Plan goes to the Planning Commission tonight.
Put 'shared streets' in Jay Fisette's neighborhood first.
