I was talking to a friend who's employed by and will retire from the Arlington Police Department in the near future. In the event you haven't heard by now, the Arlington Police Department is 100% reactive and only responds to anything when there's a report or complaint. There are a few exceptions like special events and providing security for bars, restaurants, and malls. And putting entire groups under surveillance for any reason or no reason. Latest group is Millennial males carrying backpacks. So don't expect any 'community policing' from ACPD anytime soon. This is the last week before summer interns go back to school and if I were between 17 and 25 I would not venture into the pub crawl zones this weekend, especially after Midnight. Can Arlington Government PLEASE pass an ordinance prohibiting the riding of bicycles, skateboards, and scooters on sidewalks in congested areas like Clarendon?

Arlington County police allowed a bunch of third world human rights violators to use it's firearms training range during the World Police and Fire Games.

Community Policing in Arlington? Police ask so-called 'community leaders' what's occurring in a community and believe everything they are told.
ACPD has de-emphasized the three police districts and is focused on chasing "suspects" around the entire County.
Anyone can be a "suspect". Police believe whatever reports they receive via phone calls. So "suspicious persons" often turn out to be black and latino males walking through a "white" neighborhood.

I also believe we are in Year 14 of a 30 Year War on Terrorism and by 2031 we will be governed by neocon maniacs like Ted Cruz and a nationwide consortium of local neocon police forces whose primary focus will be on "enforcing neoconservative conformity".

I saw a couple of uniformed Arlington officers walking along Fairfax Drive today. Obviously lost trying to find the nearest Dunkin Donuts.
Arlington Biketards is another special interest group with excellent PR that ACPD ignores....like ACPD chaperones Rolling Thunder in return for major league overtime Memorial Day.
