Sierra Club Likely to Endorse Beyer

Hey, Yupette,

Thanks for your blog.

I'm a long-time member of the Sierra Club and am appalled by thousands and thousands of Land Rovers tearing up the environment around the world and destroying fragile ecosystems.

However, you have to be aware that hundreds, maybe thousands, of Sierra Club members also own Land Rovers or Range Rovers and are enthusiastic participants in off-road events - in the United States and around the World.

So, it's quite likely the Sierra Club will endorse Don Beyer for Congress. I'm only a member of the Sierra Club because of a personal (largely futile) commitment to environmental preservation. Unfortunately, Sierra Club members are mostly conservationists, not preservationists. Big difference.

Don's wealthy friends are taking 'roadkill' to another dimension - fish, turtles, and frogs.

Where are National Public Radio, the Post, and the local newspapers and news blogs? Running ads, commercials, and informercials for Don Beyer, Inc.

Type 'Land Rover Experience' into your favorite search engine.

Greenpeace has repeatedly stated that Land Rover - Range Rover corporation execs are 'Climate Criminals'.

Washington Post Editorial Board members are obviously Land Rover owners.

R.I.P Kermit the Frog. Killed on May 12, 2014 hit and run over by a Land Rover in Walden Pond, Massachusetts.

I wonder if Dandy Don will lend his good bud Nick Benton a Range Rover to use as Grand Marshall of the 2015 Falls Church Gay Pride Parade?

More evidence that investigative journalism by the mainstream media is dead as an endangered species of snake killed by an off-road Land Rover.

Perhaps the Independent Greens who have a candidate in the race will raise the issue. Then again, if it's not about rail they don't want to know about it.

If Don Beyer wants to do something positive for the environment he could offer owners of the old Range Rovers a major tune up free of charge.

Sierra Club? Land Rover owners? Complements their McMansions on the shore of Chesapeake Bay.

Post (which is still controlled but not owned by the Graham Family) had to know about Land Rover's record of environmental destruction since Greenpeace has been complaining about Land Rover Inc. for almost 10 years.

Nick Benton, publisher of the FC News-Press, is a Past-President of the FC Chamber of Commerce.

Other Democratic candidates certainly had the opportunity to make environmental irresponsibility a big campaign issue.

Don Beyer in the House of Representatives? More proof of the Kaine-Warner Theorem: Any benefit to the Middle Class from wealthy Democrats serving in Congress is purely coincidental.

Why no solar anything (PV or water heating) installed at any of Don Beyer's dealerships? Why no solar anything in the entire City of Falls Church?

Then there are the thousands of Land Rover owners who use their vehicles to chase and then shoot animals.

If Mitt Romney were Episcopalian would there be any difference between him and Don Beyer?

You have to wonder who Don Beyer was hanging with as Ambassador to Switzerland. Certainly not the struggling Swiss Middle Class.

Land Rovers are to motor vehicles as assault rifles are to firearms.

Deja Vu. Post had the opportunity to replace Jim Moran ten years ago but the Grahams chose to keep him in office.

You forgot to mention the accidents that occur in Third World nations when Land Rovers hit people and animals at night.

I voted for Patrick Hope. Don Beyer is going to take care of his corporate cronies. Not surprising that the Chamber of Commerce Republicans in the media (including those who call themselves 'Democrats') endorsed Beyer.

I wonder if Don Beyer has a McMansion on the Bay.
