Fisette, Hynes, and Tejada Met Illegally to Map Streetcar Strategy

Hey, Yupette,

No more than two County Board members are supposed to meet at any place at any time to discuss anything. Right? Try telling the pro-Streetcar County Board Majority (Fisette, Hynes, and Tejada) who met in the County Board offices and County Manager's office (next door) several times over the past month to plan how to avoid holding a voter referendum on the Pike and Crystal City streetcars

County Board Member Libby Garvey was incapacitated  and occupied with doctors appointments as the result of her bicycle-related injury and John Vihstadt has to work for a living (unlike his predecessor, Chris Zimmerman). Select members of the pro-streetcar coalition were invited to the secret planning sessions.

Separately, the local media were told to go along with the program, or else. And nothing at this point fazes Barbara Donnellan who keeps three sets of general ledgers, one for the bond rating agencies, one for internal use, and one for public display.

Anyone who believes that, after 15 years of single party rule, Arlington's Machine Democrats are going to play by the rules is living in the New Urbanists' future dream world, Neverland on the Potomac.

Also 2100

They are pulling these stunts much less often than when Chris Zimmerman was on the County Board. A few years ago they held dress rehearsals before official County Board meetings.

Yeah, the three of them meet with Barbara Donnellan in the CM offices.

Why are we paying for more PR for their bad decisions, like the Artisphere and Aquatic Center?

I mean REALLY people, we the taxpayers are going to forced to spend something like $2 million over the next year promoting Fisette's Hynes's and Tejadas's vanity projects via The Citizen, AVN, and whatever other media outlet they can use to inflict their tax-borrow-spend vanity projects agenda on us.

Illegal meetings by the County Board? Until Libby Garvey was elected it was a given.

J.V. and Libby are giving the tax-borrow-spend PlutoCtats some real heat. J.V. has my vote in November.

John Vihstadt for County Board. John Vihstadt for County Board. John Vihstadt for County Board.

Typical. All they care about is facilitating their pet projects, in the event you wondered how our streets became the mess they are.

There's a constant parade of Democratic political hacks, developers who want their site plans pre-approved, and of course the clients of Jay Fisette's spouse visiting Fisette, Hynes, and Tejada in their County Board offices looking for one favor or another.

Libby Garvey was alternately bullied by C.Z. and ignored by the other three before C.Z. left the Board.

How much decision-making has the County Board delegated to the County Manager and the Executive Leadership Team?

Don't waste your time posting comments to the ArlNow blog that relate to Arlington being run by the New Urbanists for the New Urbanists. They will be deleted by the New Urbanists who publish ArlNow.

Did the County Board even know that non-residents Donnellan and Schwartz had decided to relocate Fire Station 8 before the decision was embedded in the CIP?

Some hack Democrat who's part of the bloated bureaucracy at 2100 Clarendon Blvd. censors ArlNow.

C.Z. made Libby Garvey's life miserable before he left the Board.

Most of the time the last few years C.Z. was on the Board he spent on promoting so-called 'Smart Growth' to build a client base for Smart Growth America for when he retired and went to work for Smart Growth America.

No way I would ever vote to bring back a C.Z. clone like Alan Howze to the County Board.

They weren't illegal meetings, they were 'Streetcar Strategy Sessions'.

When does my street get paved?

Donnellan told the then-CB before she was appointed CM that no way would she ever move to Arlington from Clifton

Few of the decision makers at 2100 Clarendon Blvd. live in Arlington

Time not only for an independent internal auditor but a requirement that all department heads, assistant county managers, and above live in the county.

Win-Win-Win for them. Big paycheck. Live in nice well-preserved suburbs. Don't have to pay the taxes for and suffer the consequences of the in-fill they impose on us.

Anyone consider that Arlington is a dump for in-fill so the outer suburb Nimbys who work at 2100 can keep their own suburban communities suburban?

You will be interested to know that virtually NO ONE in County Government in charge of facilitating in-fill site plans lives in Arlington County. Moreover, persons employed by the in-fill real estate trusts, consultants, lawyers, etc., are almost all non-residents.
