Arlington's $568 Million Wastewater Treatment Plant in Big Doo Doo
Hey, Yupette,
I have a good bud who works at Arlington's almost-new $568 million wastewater treatment plant. According to him, the plant has been in a state of dysfunction since last week's major downpours and things are getting worse. The plant staff can't apparently get the wastewater treatment system under control. All they are apparently able to do is shut off one valve or valves, and turn on another, or others. The alarms have been going off the past few days like in one of those old Star Trek episodes where the Klingons attack the Enterprise. Enough HAZMAT is stored at the plant to blow a crater into Potomac Yards and level Arlington Ridge. It's raining hard again tonight, so hope the plant doesn't blow up, or have to be evacuated because of HAZMAT releases.

Every time there's a lot of rain there are a lot of problems with the waste water treatment plant.
County Democrat Board's half-billion dollar waste water treatment plant has never been able to handle a lot of storm water. Whatever awards DES receives from whatever organizations PR Flack Diana Sun applies to for awards for wastewater treatment are based on data obtained during s Summer drought in August.
Yeah, any complaints about this situation, which is not only dangerous but inexcusable, are met with expressions of disdain by DES County Staff.
They almost had to evacuate the wastewater treatment plant tonight, and it's raining hard in my neighborhood right now.
Stovepipes in Arlington Government? I'm an IBM Expert Guru and I know stovepipes in government when I see them.
Me vote for IBM Expert Guru Alan Howze for County Board? No Way!
Someone reported an apparent 'loss of operator control' situation at the wastewater treatment plant to Arlington's Emergency Communication's Center about 7:30 PM tonight and whomever it was who reported the situation was apparently ignored.
Don't worry, they'll bring in a team of expensive engineering consultants and eventually fix whatever's wrong.
The County Manager's PR Team will fix the problem(s) by buying an award for wastewater treatment excellence from some national environmental association.
Same DES that's selling EPA clean water credits to other jurisdictions?
When does my pothole-filled street get repaved?
Oh don't worry about it, the operators will stick some rags in a pipe or pipes for a temporary fix until a contractor can get around fixing whatever the problem is.
"Pass me them old rags, Bubba, I'm gonna fix this sucka real good...Turn off that damn alarm system...it always going off, this plant a mess and the alarms not helping anything."
As a matter of fact, the plant's neighbors up on the Ridge have been reporting outside alarms going off for the past few days.
At least one building had to be evacuated last night...DES is pretty shaken up today.
Same DES that's responsible for paving streets and fixing potholes?
They are still trying to fix whatever is the matter.
Wastewater plant has never been able to handle a heavy rainfall from the County's combined stormwater-wastewater sewer system.
"Who the hell stuck the rags in front of Valve B-113, C-116, and D-118?"
Anyone know the name of the person who heads Arlington's Department of Environmental Services?

Deputy County Manager Mark Schwartz 703-228-3120

What is it with all the HAZMAT alarms constantly going off?
Barbara Donnellan's Executive Leadership Team has devised a solution - Diana will fast track applying for more environmental awards.
Diana will also dispatch an AVN production crew to make a infopropaganda feature at the wastewater treatment plant telling the sheeple to not worry and be happy.
I live on Arlington Ridge. Why are the outdoor alarms still going off at the Waste Water Treatment Plant?
Why are the neighborhood HAZMAT alarms still going off? Because it's a corrupt Democratic Regime, that's why.
Hear a HAZMAT alarm going off at the Doo Doo Treatment Plant? Call 703-558-2222. If the alarms don't stop call 9-1-1 and if that doesn't work you can call the County Board directly at 703-228-3130 between 9 AM and 5 PM - Monday thru Friday.
See anything on the County's Web site about this? Donnellan isn't going to admit anything is wrong with anything. Remember the $1 million Pike bus shelter? It was all VDOT's fault.
Time to beam down Scotty to find out what the hell is wrong with the menthanol injectors.
"Captain, they canna fix the methanol injectors because ethanol from the events they call 'pub crawls' is confusing the methanol sensors".
Somehow I knew the problem had to in some way be caused by yuptards.
Where did they buy the CH3OH sensors?
Time for Spock to take sensor readings...
"Captain, their methanol sensors can be reset with a short spread phaser burst".
"Beam Scotty up......Set Phasers".
"Fire Phasers...Sensor readings Spock?"
"Captain, our sensors indicate their methanol sensors are reset."
Long past time for an IG in the county!
