Arlington Has Become a Renewable Energy Backwater

Hey, Yupette,

I recently was in San Diego on business and the electric utility there, San Diego Electric and Gas is really going for solar as a major league alternative energy source. Take a look at the photo of a solar charging station that charges electric vehicles while they are parked. Too bad Dominion completely controls everything in Virginia. Despite what Jay Fisette may say about energy planning in Arlington, fact is that about 97% of Arlington' electric energy comes from burning some kind of fuel and from nuclear reactors. A huge amount of solar energy is wasted heating parking lots and building rooftops. That's what happens when local government, local business, media, non-profits, everything is controlled by an electric utility.

That's what happens when Dominion controls the Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce controls the local media. We don't even get to see what state-of-the-art renewable energy looks like.

We can't even get information about how to install solar panels on our garage roofs to charge our plug-in hybrids.

Let's face facts - Jay Fisette is a corrupt pol and Scott McCaffrey is a corrupt Chamber of Commerce booster.

It gets worse. McCaffrey runs doctored pictures and photos of streetcars without overhead wires and won't run photos of state-of-the-art bus rapid transit.

Corruption? How about an A.Y. feature about that total waste of tax dollars, the Commissioner of the Revenue's Office?

I have to differ. Arlington has it's own alternative energy vehicle, a product of the Creative Class's creativity...the ethanol-powered Trolley Pub.

The solar panels shade the vehicles and you can collect rain water that runs off the panels.

Which Gala are the Elite attending tonight?

Everybody else is getting big solar renewable installations...we get the Trolley Pub.

More like 99%, because what Dominion classifies as 'renewable energy' is generated by burning waste wood and methane collected from decomposing household waste buried in landfills.

Anyone seen the latest in solar photovoltaic? Ceramic photovoltaic panels that are much easier to fabricate, produce much more energy, and require many fewer chemicals to produce?

Doesn't Arlington County own the Ballston Commons Mall Parking Garage? What's on the Ballston Commons Mall Parking Garage?

Chris Zimmerman's last day in office is February 10th, FYI

FYI - $ara$ota $cott McCaffrey's official title at the Arlington Chamber of Commerce is "Vice-Chair for Economic Development and Government Affairs".

Last I saw Florida'a largest solar photovoltaic array is located in Sarasota.

Commissioner of Revenue's Office wasting tax dollars? Has gone from an ongoing pussy party to an ongoing pot party within a few short years.

If the County Board started doing Socialist stuff like installing solar thermal panels to heat public buildings the Chamber would no longer provide CB members with free tickets to Chamber events.

I have a flex fuel vehicle where do I buy EA 85 fuel at in Arlington or the DC area?
