Hey, Yupette,
I visited the County's famous Million Dollar Bus Shelter on Columbia Pike at Noon today and no one was sitting down while waiting for a bus. Outdoor temp was 15 and I wondered how cold the steel seats were. So I brought my refrigerator's thermometer and put it on the steel bench inside the bus shelter in the sunlight. As you can see, after about 5 minutes the thermometer read 18 degrees.
Sheesh. You would think that after spending a million the County could install a nice piece of non-endangered species hardwood over the steel, in the winter at least. Guess all the County's spare disposable income will be going to fund the Pike streetcar.
Another reason I won't be voting for a Democrat as the successor to Chris Zimmerman this year.

How about the black steel benches being installed at bus stops, 118 degrees in summer and 18 degrees in winter.
The Walter Reed bus shelter wasn't designed for Pike residents. It was designed to be a taxpayer funded gift to Zimmerman's pet designers and planners. About 20 more of them were planned.
For $21 million we can get a fleet of state-of-the-art off-the-shelf bus rapid transit vehicles on the Pike. And no, BRT doesn't need dedicated lanes.
You don't want to be anywhere near that bus shelter during a thunderstorm in the Summer, it's a big well-grounded lightning rod.
Pike Rider, just take a couple copies of some worthless local newspaper, like the Sun Gazette, out of a nearby for-free vending box and sit on them while you wait for a bus.
Why pick on one bus shelter? For the cost of the ornamental ironwork on and around W-L High School W-L could have been equipped with state-of-the-art on-site renewable energy.
Think Barbara Donnellan cares? She brought the police with her to the CivFed meeting tonight in the event someone started asking her tough questions about funding for public infrastructure.
I want to know who the urban village idiot is who was responsible for installing the black painted steel benches in bus shelters and elsewhere around the County. No fooling, they are 18 degrees in winter and 118 degrees in summer.
Barbara Donnellan will never swim, wade, or slide into any pool at the Fisette Aquatics Center. She will never ride a bicycle on any of Arlington's streets, roads, or bike trails. She will never ride a bus on Columbia Pike.
BRT DOES NOT NEED DEDICATED LANES.
Hi, A.Y. It was 9 degrees at 6 AM in beautiful downtown Barcroft.
Simple solution --- solar panels and a battery pack that warm the seats in the daytime and also provide lighting at night. Can't do that, might upset Dominion.
Can't spoil the 'architectural integrity' of the award-winning bus shelter by installing add-ons. Sheeple will just have to buy a sheepskin-lined leather jacket and wait for a bus standing up.
Folks, Zimmy et. al. were going to install 20 additional million-dollar bus shelters up and down the Pike.
When do we get a third party outside audit of the Pike and Crystal City streetcar projects? I am hearing $500+ million for the Pike streetcar.
Hypothermia from a bus shelter. Only in the Peoples Republic of Arlington.
Bus Shelter. Yet another insipid oxymoron devised by Arlington's urban village idiots who micro-manage every aspect of our lives.
Barbara Donnellan is shameless.
So Barbara wants to build more so-called 'bus shelters' on the Pike? Can the sheeple see what one will look like before we are fleeced $800,000 to pay for a downscale version of the deluxe model?
Fleece the Sheeple. The Arlington Way in the 21st Century?
No wonder Barbara has to have police protection when she attends CivFed meetings.
Arlington County Government's Planning Paradigm: Fire...Aim...Ready.
The fresh produce, milk, and meat in a supermarket get treated better than Pike bus riders.
The refrigeration units that keep non-frozen food fresh in a supermarket would not be allowed to go below freezing.
What is it about the Arlington Police showing up at meetings?
What will the police do if marijuana is legalized across the USA?
Show up at meetings and arrest the sheeple for asking why County Government is fleecing them?
