Clement Pushes Virginia Green Party to Endorse Libertarian Sarvis

Hello Yupette,

FYI, the Green Party of Virginia endorsed Robert Sarvis during a state-wide meeting in Newport News last Saturday. Co-Chair Audrey Clement pushed the Green Party to endorse Libertarian candidate Sarvis, although Sarvis did not seek the Green Party's endorsement. Clement (who is the Green Party's candidate for Arlington County Board of Supervisors) put the Sarvis endorsement on the meeting agenda at the commencement of the meeting without informing the Virginia Green Party membership. Recently the Green Party of Virginia reluctantly began endorsing a few Independents who sought the Party's endorsement.

Obviously, I and other Greens are having nothing to do with the Virginia Green Party as long as the current regime controls the Party.

Not surprising. Clement has been unhappy with the Green Party's social progressive for years.

Clement should run her Green platform past the Sarvis campaign, to hear how much laughter it generates.

Endorsement may have been out-of-order, since the Green Party's bylaws don't allow endorsements of candidates who don't share the Green Party's values.

It gets worse. County Board voted last night to making major 'improvements' to Lacey Woods Park, Audrey Clement's neighborhood park, without an environmental impact assessment. Where were Audrey and the Green Party?

County Board also voted to fund the Pike streetcar. Where was Audrey?

Where was the rest of the Green Party?

Holding a fundraiser for Bob Sarvis?

Virginia Greens are all pathetic...it's a political club, not a political party.

Audreey Clement could not be bothered to attend Tuesday's County Board meeting to protest funding the Pike streetcar. Her primary activity these days is playing politics with the other Greens.

The Republicans are too busy making money to run for public office.

So we are stuck with the same crowd of corrupt cronies, year after year.

Green Party leadership is allowing a 30 foot wide paved road to be constructed through Lacey Woods Park, near where Clement and the other Greens live, which contains hundreds of different species of trees and plants. Supposedly for ADA access. Why do people in motorized wheelchairs need a 30 foot wide paved road?

Theme song of the Green Libertarians - Pave Paradise and Put Up a Parking Lot.

Does this mean the Greens will now be attending gun shows collecting contributions for Sarvis?

You would think that, having lost her job with a federal IT contractor because of the Tea Party's fiscal shenanigans, Clement would be unhappy with the Libertarians.

I thought the theme song of the Green Libertarians is "Run Bambi Run".

Doesn't Sarvis own an IT company?

I thought Audrey Clement is a squirrel, but squirrels don't carry their food around in a pouch, so I guess she's a chipmunk.

According to a local Greens I spoke with, Clement is taking huge amounts of time from her own campaign for County Board to push the Virginia Green Party to endorse Sarvis.

Clement really pushed Sarvis's endorsement to the Greens.

Greens are too busy feuding over endorsing Sarvis to do much else.

What's the diff between the Local Green Party and the State Green Party? Local party is a club run by and for about 6 Greens. State party is a club run by and for about 12 Greens.

So when does Clement dump the Greens and start running as a Libertarian?

Anonymous said...

Clement is still feuding with other Greens over this alleged 'endorsement'.

Anonymous said...

Did Clement ever ask Sarvis what he thinks about creating a new housing authority bureaucracy in county government?

Greens are a bunch of dilettantes, if you haven't yet figured out where they're coming from.

Green Gun Shows. What a novel idea.

Only lead-free bullets allowed.

Can't you see Clement at a gun show with Cuccinelli and Sarvis hitting on the gun buyers and sellers for contributions?

To obtain the Green Party of Virginia's endorsement an independent or third party candidate has to endorse the Green Party's values and state platform but Clement never bothered contacting Sarvis to even inquire whether he wanted the Green Party of Virginia's endorsement.

Clement has been threatening to dump the Green Party and join the Libertarians for more than a year.

I'm surprised by the amount of inaccuracies both in the post and in the comments. Let's start with Sarvis' endorsement. The person who placed the endorsement on the table was another member of the party, not Clement. By the way, the party did not endorse Saris yet. The different local parties have to decide if they agree with the endorsement. Until then, the party has not endorsed Sarvis.

Clement made some sort of deal with the Libertarians and indeed pushed the Greens into endorsing Sarvis.

Clement has been feuding with the other Virginia Green Party Co-Chair, John Reeder, over the endorsement.

Sarvis has still not been asked whether he supports the Green Party's state platform and values, which is supposed to be the prerequisites for endorsement.

PS It's Clement and her cronies who spew misinformation, not this blog.
