Pay-to-Play with Rob and Jay - August 17th

Hi Yupette,

Just a reminder that the next pay-to-play event for Arlington's movers and shakers will be Rob Rosen's and Jay Fisette's barbecue at their Ashton Heights estate on August 17th from 4-7.

If you missed the U.S.S. Arlington commissioning here's a great opportunity to meet the people who make things happen in Arlington.

Tickets are $100, to benefit the campaigns of LGBT-friendly candidates.

Ted, N. Irving Street

LBGT friendly canddiates? Does that mean Audrey Clement? As a matter of fact I saw a gay couple in Westover yesterday. They were lost trying to find the happy hour at Freddies.

Speaking of the U.S.S Arlington, not too late to make a major league contribution to the ship's hospitality fund.

If you are lost trying to find Jay and Rob's home on North Jackson Street look for the gold Prius in the driveway, which Jay drives everywhere, notwithstanding his campaign's claim he's a bikester.

Audrey bicycles everywhere, now that Jim H. isn't driving her everywhere.

After you've contributed to Jay's campaign you can sign up for Rob's special ten session "How to Make Your Company Healthier" consulting program, for only $10,000 per session.

Does Jay have any income other than the $45,000 he gets paid for rubber stamping dumb growth mega-development plans?

Bonus Offer: When you sign your REIT up for Ron's ten session "How to Make Your Company Healthier" program you can meet with Jay 1-on-1 in the County Board offices to help facilitate your REIT's dumb growth mega-development plans.

OMG, look at the parking mess in the neighborhood. Where are the bicycles? Everybody drove.

Do you really expect them to believe their own propaganda?

Fisette. Smart Growth. What a bunch of humbug. Check out Jay's and Rob's Manor House on Jackson Street in Arts and Crafts Ashton Heights. This is the guy who can't approve site plans to infill my South Arlington neighborhood fast enough.

It was worth $100 to see how Jay lives. Pretty plush. I had to park on Irving Street. Sorry, Ted.

Thank you for this blog. This posting should be Exhibit 1 against so-called "Smart Growth".

Speaking of Smart Growth an an oxymoron, ever seen anyone in Douglas Park across from Chris Zimmerman's home?

No, and I live a couple blocks away.

Revolving door between Healthy Companies International's corporate offices on Wilson Boulevard and the County Board offices across the street? I don't see any revolving door.

That does it for me. I'm not supporting a "regime" that exists to enrich itself and impose it's looney tunes "Smart Growth" belief system (abbreviated B.S.) on the rest of us, no matter what the consequences for us. Speaking of consequences I am wondering how many other upscale homes "Jay" and "Rob" own as the consequence of Mr. Fisette's long tenure on the County Board and Mr. Rosen's consulting activities with organizations seeking approval for some project or program from the County Board.

If the media are going to delve into the activities of the McDonnell family they should at least ask a few questions about Mr. Fisette's and Mr. Rosen's activities.

Investigative Journalism? Dude, we are talking about Post reporters who have to ask directions to 2100 Clarendon Blvd. from the Courthouse Metro Station.

Investigative reporting? Local media were schooled at the Richard L. Connor School of Journalism (owner of the 'Sun Fisette', look him up on the Web).

I blame the Graham Family for the Post's decline. They obviously haven't cared about the newspaper business for years. I needed to buy the Post last Friday for the weekend section and it was sold out at two pharmacies and a convenience store.

Charging $100 per ticket. Doesn't that say it all? Arlington is of, by, and for Yups. Oh, some affordable housing is set aside for their household help.

I wonder if Rob and Jay pay a living wage to the people who do the cleaning and landscaping on their estate.

Once Jay retires from the County Board you can bet that he and Ron aren't going to stick around massively in-filled Arlington to experience the mess Jay inflicted on us after 20 years on the C.B.

So what's the choice? Jay Fisette or Audrey Clement. Audrey Clement's been Co-Chair of the Virginia Green Party for seven years and the entire state party leadership lives in or near Westover. There are few or no members of minority groups who are active in the Virginia Green Party. We are asked to ratify the Green Party's referendum on a housing authority without any hard data from the Greens about the costs and benefits.

So the choice we have for County Board is between a Guppy Elitist and an Ivy League Elitist. This in a county that among the most educated and wealthy jurisdictions in the world.

What can you expect, from a local newspaper that's been jokingly referred to as the "Sun Fisette" for more than a decade and from the national newspaper that delegates the task of recommending local candidate endorsements to summer interns?

Too easy for the media to go along with the County's $2 million / year propaganda machine.
