Also, lots of people on bicycles being injured in encounters with streetcar tracks in Portland this year.

Arlington is going to spend $400 million for this?

Did the streetcar run a stoplight?

This is why we DON'T need a streetcar system on the Pike. Accidents that block all lanes for hours.

Let's see, lanes are blocked, paramedics, police, fire vehicles arrive, power turned off to streetcar, injured passengers removed, streetcar towed away, tracks and overhead wires checked for damage, power restored. How many hours?

Epidemic of bicycle - streetcar tracks injuries continues.

How about HAZMAT incidents? Streetcar hits a gasoline delivery truck. Sparks from overhead wires set off gasoline.

I am surprised that fires from burning fuel are rare when streetcars hit motor vehicles, given the damage motor vehicles usually suffer.

Streetcar in the photo hit the semi, peeled back the front bumper. Could be your Honda Fit, Ford Focus, etc.

There's been insufficient discussion of the HAZMAT aspect of accidents between vehicles and streetcars.

County Board is idiotic. Last year it approved 3000 new parking spaces when it approved site plans. Half the parking spaces were for office buildings where the occupants will drive in and out of Arlington, one per vehicle during rush hours.

Now they want to approve backyard agriculture, while allowing and approving massive in-fill. McMansions replacing small homes on the same lot. Packing farm animals into tiny spaces.

We pay $10 million per year so the non-residents who run Arlington Economic Development can totally urbanize this tiny tiny county. Enough.

Can they spell G-R-I-D-L-O-C-K? Zimmerman obvious;ly has not been on the Pike recently during weekday rush hours.

Same Fairfax County residents want you to go on a car-free-diet.

Zimmy, Fi$ette, et. al. are spending $3 million per year putting us on a car-free diet so the commuters from McLean who make County Government's important decisions will not suffer gridlock

Arlington is also a party zone for Upscale Fairfax County.

County Board's "legacy": Arlington will be an expensive mess.

So the County Manager's Office (will cost taxpayers $5 million during FY 14), Economic Development ($10 million) and CPHD ($10 million) couldn't persuade NSF to stay in Arlington? Time for Donnellan, Holzheimer, and Brosnan to retire.

Yes, but they can and will urbanize your neighborhood.
