County Board to Meet With Arlington Civic Federation, Tuesday, February 5th

Hey Yupette,

Thanks for your blog. If you didn't already hear, the Arlington County Board will meet the Arlington County Civic Federation on Tuesday, February 5th, at the Hazel Conference Center, Virginia Hospital Center, at 7:30 PM. Only CivFed delegates get to ask questions of the County Board. So civic associations that are concerned about anything pertaining to their neighborhoods should be sure to have questions ready.

This summer are the County employees responsible for emergency management who live way outside Arlington and/or own vacation homes way outside Arlington going to tell us to shelter in place next time the power goes off for a week in July?

Senior County Staff are on-the-job retirees, many of whom spend increasing amounts of time working from home, home being their retirement homes.

Question to County Board tonight, when will you show concern for families with children to raise and senior citizens? Why is county government posited on pleasing residents who have huge amounts of disposable income to spend on recreation and entertainment?

Question: Why is 85% of the County Board's time spent attending to the wants of special interests?

When, if ever, will traffic ordinances pertaining to the operation of bicycles on Arlington's streets and roads be enforced?

On the job retirement? Like County "Planning" Staff communicating with the REITs about the urbanization of your neighborhood from their vacation homes in places like Outerbanks NC.

When they're not communicating with the REITs from their homes in places like Clifton.

Mr. Fisette, which one of your corporate cronies has been chosen to redevelop the Reeves Farm site in return for fixing up the farmhouse?

How many County Staff are authorized to spend their "work" days posting messages on local news blogs?

Plan A? Plan B? Plan A is to enforce de facto racial and ethnic segregation in upscale neighborhoods of single-family homes. Plan B is "anything goes" in the B-R Corridor, on the Pike, in Shirlington, etc.

Why do we have to have a stupid streetcar system? Because one stupid County Board member wants it?
