Enough CivFed R-and-E Charades - Time for a Tax Cut !

Hello Yupette,

Arlington Civic Federation is meeting tonight and its Revenues and Expenditures Committee will most likely go through the same charade budget 'analysis' as last year - recommending the County Manager's FY 13 budget with a 1/2 cent tax increase.

Well, enough of these charades. I want an across-the-board tax cut this year. If the Pike trolley is scrapped the commercial real estate tax surcharge can be cut in half. If the County Board implements Audrey Clement's fiscally responsible management agenda homeowners can get a 2 cent tax cut this year instead of a 2 1/2 cent tax increase.

As for the Arlington County Taxpayer's Association (ACTA) and its president, Tim Wise, he should be calling for Mary Hynes to retire rather than praising her for finally revealing that she and the County Board have been on a tax-and-spend binge ever since she was first elected. By the way, where was Tim when the outrageous designer fence for the wastewater treatment plant came before the County Board?

Enough is enough. I'm not supporting anyone running for any political office who goes along with any tax increase for FY 13.

You saw him wow the Civfed with his financial acumen last year. Now he's back.

You are invited to experience Reitminister of Finance Kubicki and a cast of dozens in a command performance of:

"We Endorse the County Manager's Budget"

Anonymous said...

Exactly what is the matter with the brand new security fence installed at the wastewater treatment plant?

2100 said...

FYI, Kubicki's boss, Uber Reitsminister Akridge, is having behind closed doors meetings with Reitsfuhrer Zimmerman regarding massive urbanization of the Pike corridor.

Check out the R&E Committee's charade report on the CivFed's Web site. Same performance as last year by the same cast of characters.

Pull the plug on the Pike streetcar, Artisphere, Long Bridge Olympic Diving & Aquatic Center, subsidies to wealthy special interest groups NOW, not next fiscal year, NOW, ASAP, this year.

Yes, CUT the tax rate for commercial and residential real estate. That's why I voted for Audrey Clement. That's why lots of others voted for Mark Kelly.

FYI, Wayne Kubicki is a financial guru for Akridge Corporation, whose CEO, Chip Akridge, has been holding closed-door meetings with the County Board about 'development opportunities' on the Pike corridor.

Latest about Arlington's pink slime Republicans is they've hacked into the Sun Gazette's blog with defective software and are posting the names that are being returned of all the URLs of anyone who posts to the Sun Gazette online.

Yupette, how about a feature about Corporate Welfare Republicans like Wise and Kubicki who are preparing to endorse the $350 million Pike Streetcar System and the $200 million Long Bridge Olympic Diving and Aquatic Center?

fed up Repub said...

Yeah, Tim Wise and the Arlington Republican Party are hacking blogs to see who's posting comments.

TY said...

I would like to know why Arlington Republicans aren't calling for an immediate end to taxpayer support of the Artisphere.

Anonymous said...

No, pink slime Repubs, like Wise, are 'outing' people they THINK are posting to blogs.

I agree that the R&E report is a big charade. Funds many of the County Board's vanity projects and special interests for another year.

Does Akridge maintain an office in Arlington? I thought it's another out-of-state REIT looking for corporate welfare redevelopment opportunities.

Anonymous said...

What do Wise and Kubicki have to say about the $200 million to be spent on a massive diving and aquatics center at Longbridge Park for the 2028 Olympics?

Designer fence at the wastewater treatment plant should be christened the 'Tim Wise Fence' with water from the wastewater treatment plant. The $320,000 this outrage cost would never have come to the County Board if Tim hadn't been playing fiscal footsie with Mary Hynes.

R&E Committee are typical Republicans, cut housing assistance to the working poor while preserving corporate welfare for wealthy developers.

"Kubicki Theater" has Wayne's annual charade nailed.

Here's the Civic Federation budget report:

http://civfed.org/reandschools2012.pdf

It rejects the County Manager's proposed real estate tax increase.

It adds $1.7M of additional housing aid to the Manager's proposal.

It recommends that the Artisphere be closed if it doesn't meet in FY13 budget targets.

Wise and Kubicki should be asking why the wealthy $ignature-$ynetic still receives an $89,000 hand out from the County every year.

Ditto for a laundry list of the County board's pet people, projects and programs.

Kubicki Theater. More of the same Willard Romney bull-oney we hear on the networks. Close the Artisphere. Today. Stop any further planning for the Pike Streetcar. Today. Stop any more planning for the $200 million Olympic Diving - Aquatic - Recreation Center. Today.

Budget only a Willy Romney Republican from North Arlington could love. $ave the $ignature-$ynetic $tipend.

Anonymous said...

Why doesn't Kubicki give homeowners a break?

Anonymous said...

Is there any budget gimme to the North Arlington Elite who control the Civ Fed that Kubicki left out of his so-called budget analysis?

Mark said...

No more tax dollars for the stupid trolley. Cut the commercial real estate surtax rate in half...immediately!

Anonymous said...

Kubicki, Wise, and the others on the R and E Committee are Silly Willies who have embraced Romney's corporate welfare - welfare for the wealthy agenda at the local level.

Anonymous said...

I thought the biggest need in Arlington was for more EMS units. Where is that mentioned by Kubicki's committee?

Anonymous said...

'Mitt' Romney? You mean 'Slick Willie 2' don't you?

Agree said...

Seen on the Sun Gazette blog - CivFed budget resolution was of, by, and for the elderly Elitists from N. Arlington who control the Civic Federation.

Anonymous said...

We need more EMS vehicles and paramedics. We get more parks and recreation employees. This is how out of touch the geezers who control the Civ Fed are.

Anonymous said...

Another President 'Slick Willie'? Heard Romney's stump speech? He sounds just like....Wayne Kubicki.

They all drink the same Kool Aid, Rush serves up a fresh batch at noon every day.

Wayne Kubicki's boss, Uber Reitsminister Chip Akridge, is a big time contributor to local Dems.

Don't Vote Republicrat said...

Tim Wise? He's too busy investigating and reporting on welfare moms who are cheating social services in places like Frostbite Falls Minnesota.

Anonymous said...

Did you hear the one about the Republican Corporate Welfare King who used his year-end bonus to buy a McMansion on the Outer Banks and used the change to buy his-and-her BMW SUVs?

I love this blog...goes right to the heart of the local corruption, the Republicratic Party.

How about a posting about Republicrat skank David Englin and his 'family values'?

Andy MacDonald for Mayor of Alexandria. Audrey Clement for Arlington County Board.

Anonymous said...

FYI, the FY 13 Budget was proposed and developed by a County Manager who, when offered the position of Arlington County Manager two years ago stipulated: "As long as I don't have to move to Arlington".

Anonymous said...

Republicratic budget? Barbara Donnellan lives in Republican-controlled Clifton Virginia.

Anonymous said...

Based upon Tuesday's CivFed budget charade I nominate Wayne Kubicki and Tim Wise to be recognized as 'Honorary Democrats'.

ACTA should picket the designer fence at the wastewater treatment plant. Tim Wise would do it if someone buys four dozen doughnuts.
