Board Your Horse 1 Mile from Arlington - Where the 'Smart Growth' Redevelopment Decision Makers Live.

Hi Yupette,

Thought you'd be interested in knowing that you can still board your horse a mile from Arlington. Just drive up Chain Bridge Road from Chain Bridge about a mile. You'll see the signs.

Oh, in the event you wondered where the Elitists who make all the 'smart growth' planning decisions for Arlington residents live, they live in Fairfax County, mostly in upscale communities like McLean, Great Falls, and Clifton.

I see them discussing which Arlington neighborhoods they're going to redevelop next at the McLean Family Restaurant.

Happy Holidays,

Peggy, 22207

You wouldn't be referring to County Manager Barbara Donnellan and Economic Development Director Terry Holzheimer, would you?

Rich Doud, Terry Holzheimer, and the other economic development elite were at the Civfed meeting tonight telling the white citizens council - don't worry be happy, we know what's best for your neighborhood.

Joe Developer and his wife Jane Realtor board their polo ponies near their 500 acre estate outside Winchester. They could care less about what happens to Fairfax County much less Arlington County.

Yupette, you forgot to mention the classic 1950's and 1960's shopping plazas in McLean where the Elite meet, greet, and eat.

'Smart Growth'. Another dumb charade imposed on us by sleazy elitists.

This indicates to me that "smart growth" is nothing but a racist and elitist gentrification scheme. If you look at who the County's "decision makers" are who are destroying Arlington's suburban quality of life, they almost all live outside Arlington.

Rokeby Farms is actually less than a mile from Arlington.

Nobody is proposing redeveloping Chesterbrook Shopping Plaza, also less than a mile from Arlington.

Know who's making ALL the so-called 'planning' decisions? A bunch of baby boomers who grew up in racially segregated suburbs.

No one is proposing to re-develop upscale Lake Barcroft, also a mile up Columbia Pike from Arlington.

What can you expect. Zimmerman is not only a megalomaniac about growth he hires baby boomer 'planners' who are a few years from retirement who feed Zimmy's megalomania. Of course, nothing like 'smart growth' is allowed anywhere near their single family suburban neighborhoods

All County Board members are over 50.

Why don't you take it up with the County Manager who lives in Fairfax County?
