Clement Won CivFed Debate

Hello Yupette,

I attended the Civic Federation County Board Candidates debate this evening at W-L High School.

It's obvious that Arlington voters will have a choice this year - more of the same with Mary Hynes and Walter Tejada, or a change to 'back to basics' with Audrey Clement.

I will vote for Audrey Clement.

It's also obvious that Audrey is about positive change and Mary Hynes and Walter Tejada are for more of the same, aka "Don't Worry, be Happy, the County Board Knows What's Best for You".

I don't want the stupid and outrageously expensive Zimmerman Trolley. I don't want a County where the entire middle class has been "gentrified out". I don't want a County where 500 homeless humans wander the streets while the needs and wants of the canine population are addressed. I don't want a county that's so paralyzed by gridlock in 2016 that everyone HAS to walk or ride a bicycle. I don't want a County Board that's in the pockets of developers.

Audrey Clement was eminently sensible tonight. All I heard from Walter Tejada and Mary Hynes were platitudes.

Audrey Clement is the best candidate. I'm voting for her, and only for her, on November 8th.

Barbara

Hynes and Tejada spewed the same tired dumb growth rhetoric.

WHY are Arlington's children being put in trailers while Alexandria is building cost-effective modular classrooms?

BTW, Scott McCaffrey was offered his choice of an advisory commission appointment in return for positive coverage of Hynes and Tejada. He was recently appointed to the Emergency Preparedness Advisory Commission.

Dumb Growth? Wait to you see what Peter Katz will inflict on your neighborhood. Google "Peter Katz Sarasota County".

What did you expect from McCaffrey? He's on the Executive Committee of the Chamber of Commerce.

WHY does my kid have to attend class in a trailer while Alexandria kids attend class in new modular classrooms?

Hynes, Tejada, and the rest of the County Board are on a roll to approve the construction of at least 20,000 new parking spaces on or near major arterials over the next 5 years. Buses and streetcars will be stuck in traffic. In case you wondered why they want everyone to ride a bicycle.

My parents live in Sarasota.

Peter Katz was recently told by Sarasota County that his mega-infill 'planning' services were no longer needed.

This guy will be a disaster for our quality-of-life.

I will definitely vote for Audrey Clement.

Only Audrey Clement wanted to directly address the explosive growth in Arlington's public school enrollment.

I want a voter referendum on the Pike streetcar as soon as possible next year.

I'm voting for Audrey on November 8th and ignoring Nada Tejada and Mommy Mary, a couple of Democrats in name only.

Corrupt local media? Like Scott McCaffrey given his choice of advisory commissions in advance, in return for promoting Hynes and Tejada?

How about the CivFed delegates' questions? Where was the concern about the 500 homeless persons who roam Arlington's streets while the Yupublicrats party?

The Arlington School Board wants your kid in crummy trailers that are full of hydrocarbons from various types of plastics, glue, carpeting, etc. Any parent who's proposed alternatives, like modular classrooms, is ignored.
