Hello, Yupette,
Audrey Clement trounced Mary Hynes and Walter Tejada during the combined League of Women Voters, AAUW, and NOW Candidate Forum. The debate was held this afternoon at Arlington Central Library.
It's obvious that all Hynes and Tejada are interested in doing over the next four years is allowing developers to massively gentrify and urbanize Arlington. Based upon their opening and closing remarks, and their responses to written questions by the audience, Mary and Walter will rubber stamp any and every mega-development scheme by any and every out-of-state REIT, planner, and law firm.
On the other hand, Audrey Clement clearly indicated that she would get back to basics and set priorities when elected to County Board. Her priorities are libraries, schools, roads, public safety, and affordable housing that's truly affordable.
Our choice is clear. Time for a change on November 8th. I'm voting for Audrey Clement and only Audrey Clement for County Board.

Hynes and Tejada did not have a satisfactory response when asked directly whether the County Board is in the pockets of developers.
There has never been a clearer choice for County Board since he present regime took control 30 years ago - we are going to be totally urbanized or we will retain our suburban quality of life. I'm also voting for Audrey Clement, and only for Audrey Clement.
Hynes and Tejada should tell the truth about the Longbridge site. About $35 million has already been spent. They plan to spend another $50 million for an aquatic center and after that $50-$70 million for a mixed-use recreation center (depending whether or not an indoor soccer field will be included).
People are getting angry. A Latina went up to Theo Stamos at the Pike farmer's market yesterday and told her that Latinos and Latinas are extremely fearful of the Commonwealth Attorney's office and local law enforcement. Theo became defensive and then hostile. She's Richard Trodden's deputy and has been prosecuting the homeless and minorities for 25 years for being homeless and minorities.
Hynes and Tejada will do anything to win so they can keep the party going.
Arlington under Zimmerman is like Egypt under Mubarek...30 years was/is enough.
They are holding charade meetings tomorrow and Thursday.
Want to know what's outrageous - library system is holding charette/charade meetings about the library system's future. What is the added cost in staff time? Fifty thousand dollars? One hundred thousand dollars?
All Walter and Mary could do was mumble platitudes, since they've made so many promises to developers.
County Board doesn't want a year-around homeless treatment and prevention facility. But we pay $3.2 million a year for emergency room visits for sick and indigent people the County Board lets roam the streets.
How much are all these pre-election charades, which the County Board is only producing because they have a little competition, costing the taxpayers?
They are all afraid Audrey Clement will be elected and start asking tough questions about the budget.
She told Hynes and Tejada to find a philanthropist or non-profit to take the Artisphere off the County's hands.
County Board has the bloated County Bureaucracy (who are scared s***less that Clement will hire an Inspector General if she's elected) working overtime BSing the sheeple to save their on-the-job-retirement County jobs.
The entire County Bureaucracy is scared to death of an independent Inspector General auditing their sorry on-the-job-retiree asses.
Homeless people are Cool. It's a Yuppie Thing.
