Hello, Yupette,
Enough is enough. I live off the Pike. Work in Alexandria. Old Town residents have had it with 'development for the sake of development' along the Alexandria waterfront. I and many others have had it with Arlington's so-called 'planning process'.
Do you know how much the week-long (June 24-30) planning charettes will cost Arlongton taxpayers? More than $200,000. Most of it to Dover, Kohl. Oh, there's $5,000 per day for the hotel. For what? To make my street into a public park? To triple the density of the Pike? To rubber-stamp approval of an unnecessary $150 million streetcar system? To turn residential streets into arterials?
I and several other Pike residents are going to investigate exactly how much is being spent on this turkey. Looks like Dover, Kohl has a gold mining operation going on the Pike. No mention in their planning reports about our already-overcrowded schools. And the effects of massive infill on the environment. If members of Chris Zimmerman's Pike plenary group aren't going along with Dover, Kohl and the County's Planning Staff, why should I?
But first, I want to know how many millions have already been spent to make our historic Pike neighborhoods 'redevelopment opportunities'.

I want to know if out-of-state planners are offering the county's planning staff future employment based on their facilitating these mega-development deals.
County Staff claims its a done deal.
Zimmerman's ward heelers were going around the Pike Jazz festival today telling the Pike civic associations don't worry be happy, attend the Pike Charades and we'll work it all out together.
Our lives run and ruined by a a clique of autocrats and their one-party repressive government.
Know what the Pike Charades will be? Dover, Kohl brings detailed black and white coloring books of buildings. They give you a box of crayons, beige, brown, tan, red. You get to color the buildings. Same as Shirlington, Crystal City, EFC.
I want to see Nada Tejada's 2010 IRS Form 1040. Also the Form 1099s he received in 2010 for "miscellaneous income".
I spoke to Audrey Clement, who was out interacting with the voters at the Jazz Festival. She told me that no one she spoke with wants a streetcar on the Pike.
County;s spending $5,000 a day for meeting space, etc., at the Sheraton? Party Time for Plutocrats.
County Board has our interests in mind. That's why they spend all their time in the County Board offices meeting with planners, developers, and reits.
County Staff are arrogant a-holes. Just like guess who? The County Board.
I am outraged the word "schools" has not been mentioned, except in this blog. School overcrowding is Arlington's #1 problem. Zimmerman's solution? Put our kids in trailer classrooms and throw them a soccer ball.
Thirty years of an arrogrant autocracy. Not Egypt...Arlington.
At least one FOIA request has been filed to determine how much Dover, Kohl has been paid to destroy the Pike to Zimmerman's specifications.
Zimmerman's pet "infill facilitators" told the civic association leaders they will be replaced if they don't go along.
Build the in-fill in Woodbridge, McLean, Annandale. Arlington already has in-fill Zimmerization.
County Board is the American version of Assad, Mubarak, Ghadaffi. Thirty years of autocracy and autocrats.
SCHOOLS AND EDUCATION FIRST !!!
Hi Yuppette! I wonder if Dover, Kohl can help me decide -- Bozeman or Billings?
Ask the County Board's Nana from Montana.
What's the payoff for US, Mr. Tejada? NADA except: Crowded Schools. Traffic. Air pollution. Noise. Higher Taxes. Greatly Reduced Open Space. Environmental Destruction.
As Zimmerman what the payoff will be for us at the Chamber of Commerce event tomorrow. It will cost you $50 to ask.
I have to believe that the Pike will be a big outdoor mall and there will be little or no vehicular traffic except for delivery vehicles.
Why not go to the General Assembly and have Arlington legally become the City of Arlington? That's what the urbanization boosters want.
Investigate how many Dover, Kohl employees have been - will be enrolled in programs produced by Healthy Companies International, which is owned by Fisette's domestic partner.
