Federal Employees Facing 10 Days of Unpaid Furlough

Hello Ms. Yupette,

I heard from a friend who works as a legislative assistant for a Democratic senator that there is a tentative deal to avoid a shut-down of the federal government and that would mean federal employees having to take 10 days of unpaid furlough. I don't know what that would mean for Arlington's economy. Certainly the County should not be spending money foolishly. Thanks for your blog.

So long Artisphere.

Not necessarily. The wealthy people who want the Artisphere can take over funding its operation.

If you are a federal worker and are paid for 300 days a year it would be a 3.3% pay reduction.

Just what Zimmerman ordered. He doesn't want GSers living here anymore -- only lawyers, consultants and lobbbyists.

Put Dr. Dremo in the Artisphere. Even better than in the Ski Chalet.

CPRO, the voice of reason and rational thought in South Arlington.

I think it's pretty much a deal, Yupette.

Meanwhile the Fi$ette$phere is pushing deficits near $1 million a year as far as the eye can see. Pay up all ye $heeple.

We are also paying for a County PR Bureaucracy in the County Manager's Office that will do and say anything to keep the Artisphere spending tax dollars extravagantly.

Worst is County PR Director Diana Sun who will pitch the Artisphere and anything else the County Manager or County Board want, no matter how irrational. Funded by our tax dollars.
