County Residents Shut Out of Site Plan Conditions Revision

Hello, Yupette,

As you may be aware, at the March 12th County Board a local activist and civic association president raised the issue of citizen inclusion in the ongoing site plan conditions review and update by Community Planning, Housing, and Development. The County Board indicated that citizens should be included in the process. Well, it's been 6 weeks and citizens still know nothing about the review process, which is being coordinated by - you guessed it - County Staff who don't live in the County, with input from out-of-state developers, attorneys who don't live in Arlington representing developers, out-of-state REITs, national builders associations, and so on. Latest from County Staff is: "We'll tell you when we're finished." Did someone else mention that County Staff controls Arlington County?

T.Y.

Why don't you take it up with the County Manager, who lives in Fairfax County?

Let's be fair, County Staff is pretty busy these days, nationally marketing your residential neighborhood as a redevelopment opportunity.

Did you see that the County permitting, site plan review and construction near term pipeline is drying up? When are the 200 no-longer needed Arlington County development enabler employees going to be laid off? Or will they keep there jobs as a full employment program for the outlying counties?

Never fear, they will be put to work telemarketing our neighborhoods as in-fill development opportunities. Got to cram as much into Arlington County as possible so the people who do the 'planning' and 'economic development' and live in McLean can keep their neighborhoods free of mixed use redevelopment.

One of Reitsfuhrer Zimmerman's Reitvolksvertreter Kommandants brought up the Reitsplan condition revisions on March 12th at the County Board meeting. It appears that even our beloved Reitsfuhrer was not aware of the extent of the revisions.

Take a look at the 'planning'. It's all about make-work for a bloated County Staff to keep them fully employed by obeying the orders of Reitsfuhrer Zimmerman to recreate Arlington along the lines Reichfuhrer Hitler planned for Berlin.

Planning Director Bob Brosnan (non-resident of Arlington County) is telling Arlington residents don't worry, be happy, we have the situation "under control."

So, three guesses who's taking over as Chief of CPHD to succeed Susan Bell?

Robert Brosnan?

County Staff is always meeting with the Gimme Groups at 2100 Clarendon Blvd. to discuss one new project or another. Keeps County Staff employed and the Gimme Groups happy. Our tax dollars pay for the projects.

Latest is placing bicycle lane markings on streets that need to be repaved.
