School Board Set to Approve Wakefield Recreation-Sports-Education Complex

Hello, Yupette,

Libby Garvey and the School Board are set to approve the new Wakefield Recreation-Sports-Education Complex at tonight's School Board meeting.

So if you want a real high school, rather than a sports-recreation complex with classrooms ringed by trailer classrooms, please attend tonight's School Board meeting and speak up. You can be assured Libby will have her pet 'community leaders' there to rubber stamp the School Board's plans.

A snack food vending machine outside every classroom? I would not be surprised.

A complete re-design is needed in order to conform to the School System's primary mission in 2016 - educating 26,500 students.

Yeah, and then there's all the people from Skyline and Fairfax County who will use Wakefield as a recreation center.

Hey, Jeff, SOMEONE has to educate Arlington's future bar and restaurant owners.

Wakefield needs 20 additional permanent classrooms.

I do not want my kid in a crummy trailer classroom while Fairfax County residents who live across the street get gold plated recreation amenities.

Yes, who is this so-called educational facility for? Skyline residents who need a recreation center or Arlington's high school students?

Yupette, they vote for a sports complex aka high school without much discussion.

Dumb growth Arlington County advocates build rail, steetcars and rec for smart Fairfax County residents.

The residents of the new apartments across Dinwiddie St. in Fairfax County will get a great recreation and community center, thanks to the idiots who run Arlington County.

I wonder how many kids who live in those apartments (and also at Skyline) will illegally attend a brand new Wakefield rather than take a school bus to the nearest Fairfax County high school?

What does Libby care? She lives over a mile away and they won't be driving around trying to find a parking space in Fairlington.
