Hello, Yupette,
With so many County Staff who live outside Arlington County it's interesting to hear what their take on I-395 HOT Lanes and I-66 widening is. They want both. Or that's what they say around the water coolers at 2100 Clarendon Blvd.
Also interesting to see who is playing hardball in the General Assembly with the County Board over I-395 HOT Lanes - Delegate Tim Hugo, who represents the 40th District and lives in Clifton. Who else lives in Clifton and makes the commute to Arlington via I-66 or I-395 every weekday? None other than Arlington County Manager Barbara Donnellan. And a laundry list of other department heads. Could some (of several hundred) County Staff who live in the Clifton area be complaining to Delegate Hugo about their terrible commute to work via I-66 and I-395? Too bad investigative journalism is dead, or we'd know who from County Staff has been lobbying Delegate Hugo.

I think Chief Doug Scott lives in Clifton.
You would think Barbara Donnellan would buy a nice McMansion in Arlington rather than live amongst the NRA-Neocons in the 40th District.
Verrry Interesting
Clifton, isn't that where the Fairfax County School Board voted to shut down Clifton Elementary School? Having kids around does get in the way of the Yuppie lifestyle.
"We must report this information to Reitsminister of Transportation Von Zimmerman immediately".
Can't have County Staff who live in Western Fairfax or Prince William late to meetings with the REITs who are redeveloping the 395/Rt1 and I-66/Rt29 corridors.
My take on County Staff involved in planning, housing, and transportation? They should go work for their good buds the consultants in beautiful suburban Orlando.
Yep. I work at 2100 and live in Westover. Working for Arlington County is just a paycheck to County employees who drive in from the outer burbs.
County Staff will do anything the Copunty Board tells them. Most of them are doing their on-the-job retirement thing at "work". And they could never get jobs out where they live (where unemployment is 6-7 percent) that allow them to earn a good living while micro-managing the sheeple in various ways.
Why do you think the residential real estate assessment 'system' is so corrupt? Because the assessors don't live in Arlington and know that not raising the assessed value of VIP homes will get them promoted and allow them to buy a $40,000 SUV to get them back and forth to Clifton in comfort and style.
Does anyone know whether the reason the assessed value of Favola's home was raised was because the mortgage or mortgages amount is more than what her home is worth?
