Hello Yupette,
Well the FY 12 Arlington School System budget is out. No surprises, more money for more mediocrity, except when it comes to sports. Trailer classrooms? What did you expect from 'Jocko' Murphy? That the school system would build enough classrooms to accommodate students from the County's 'development for the sake of development' agenda? So, looks like we're we're going to become just like wonderful Fairfax County, hundreds of dumpy trailer classrooms surrounded by wonderful state-of-the art athletic fields. Nice to see that Jocko is going to allow parents to rescue the planetarium. And I'm supposed to vote for Libby Garvey for state senate?

Speaking of planetariums, the rest of America can't upgrade them fast enough.
Wait until you see the new Wakefield HS in ten years.
It will cost $480 million to educate 22,200 Arlington students in FY 12. Our kids deserve much better than increased class size and trailer classrooms.
Theer is no money for classroom construction but plenty of money for more special programs.
Jocko Murphy is another urban village idiot.
You can also not vote for Barbara Favola for state senate.
If Barbara Favola were elected to the State Senate Marymount would have a full-time lobbyist in Richmond
Why all the special programs when what the school system needs is more classrooms?
How much is going to Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, which does not have any comprehensive fund raising program, even though hundreds of TJ graduates are wealthy?
University of Virginia is also an elitist school but taxpayers only provide 8% of UVA's budget.
Is it too late to scrap the vanity sports and recreation facilities planned for the new Wakefield HS and build more classrooms instead?
Next will be taxpayer funded student internships with the cast and production crew of the latest prime-time reality show "D.C. Cupcakes".
How about interns from Yorktown and Marymount learning from the cast and production crew of "Bridezilla"?
Jocko Murphy won't cut the taxpayer contribution to TJ High School. He might be sued by wealthy TJ alumni who are partners at K. Street law firms.
Don't forget TJ students' wealthy parents who are also partners at K. Street law firms.
